I'm sure a lot of you might already have stumbled across this website. I found it when I was looking for comparisons between the old Adventureland bridge and the new bridge.
I haven't had a chance to navigate around the whole site yet, but it has some interesting facts...and lots of old photos

That is a nice one as well. I suppose if I looked, I would find a lot of these types of websites. Always too much to do and never enough time...sigh

This is a good website as well. Does anyone know the person who runs this one?

Martin Smith. Nice guy and very knowledgeable about the parks, WDW and around the world. Met him once.

Ok. Since this is a thread about past attractions (technically...) I've seen videos of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride and in the videos you can hear what sounds like the train whistle throughout the entire ride. Anyone remember if that what it was or am I just imagining things?

The only part of Mr. Toad's Wild Ride that had a train was when you were in the tunnel and all of a sudden, the train's light came on and the whistle blew, like you were going to get run over by the train

I wonder if you are just hearing the train's whistle through more of the attraction because of echoes?

Oh, I know which scene it's from. I'm just wondering if the sound of the train whistle was so loud that it overpowered the rest of the audio when it happened each time.

These are all great sites. I am hoping one day to expand my site into a historical site as well, but for now I'm working on the current information!
Thanks everyone for providing those links. I love seeing and reading about past WDW attractions!

I like waltdatedworld but I'm sad that it's not updated as often as I'd like, not like Yesterland.

Ok, I thought it was weird you didn't know about the train scene

I would guess it is just more noticeable in an audio file, or even a video, since you aren't there in person to filter the various noises with your eyes...

I did say
the train whistle, not
a train whistle...
