Favorite Disney World Resort swimming pool?

Post by Disneynut » May Wed 04, 2005 2:56 pm

Since there has been so much talk recently about Disney World Resorts I thought this topic would be appropriate. In your opinion which WDW resort has the best swimming pool?

Storm-a-Long Bay at Yacht and beach is the best in my opinion, but that is probably because my son was a lifeguard there.

I love the AKL zero entry pool - it's mammoth! We've not stayed at BC yet - but that will change next month and I'm sure as much as I love the AKL that Stormalong Bay will win out! Can't wait!

THE best pool...hands down...
and this is coming from a guy in Orlando with WAY too much time on his hands, is the polynesian pool
NOT the main pool...but there is a little known pool in the back that is smaller and verrrrry nice. Has a 7 foot deep section also, which none of the disney pools have to my knowledge...

Actually the "quiet pools" at the resorts, like this one at the Poly, are typically hidden gems to get away from some of the chaos typically at the main pool. :)

Without a doubt....Storm-a-long Bay at Yacht & beach Club...it is like a mini water park.

the yacht and beach club pool is the best. The sand on the bottom is a great touch I also enjoy the pool at port orleans riverside. The water slide there is cool. I have not been to the caribbean beach resort is a few years but those pools were nifty with the cannons that shoot water.

The old Dixie landing was surrounded by several quiet pools as well as the one behind the main building and all of these were excellent. It's been several years since we have been to the DL but compared to the value resort pools, there is no comparison.

^ I'd say the same thing. :mickey:

The beach and pool area at Yacht & Beach Club always looked so nicely themed too. Too bad I can't swim nor should I be in a bathing suit.

Wow! Old thread back! :D

We've now subsequently been back to WDW 5 times since I posted this - twice to the Yacht and Beach Club where my all time favorite pool is, Stormalong Bay. Who needs Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon?!

I love the pool at the S&D, the water fall is cool, The AKL pool was a lot of fun. We haven't stayed at the Y&BC yet, but that looks like the COOLEST pool!

I agree with everyone who said Storm-a-Long Bay. Can't beat it. 8)
