It was on twice and I couldnt stop watching! awesome show, 2 hours long , nice doc with footage from the disney archives. Did anybody else see it? I thought it was one of the best docs of Walt ive ever seen. Ive been trying to find a way to purchase it on cnbc.com or amazon.com but i havent found any direct download options.

Anyway, if u didnt see it check your local listings because i highly recommend it. And if some disney nut like me did see it and recorded it you should post it to youtube, or make a torrent of it, assuming that thats legal, or if not, do it in some legal way

Sometimes I wish I had cable or satellite or whatever would allow me to see cool shows like this. Maybe it will become available through "alternative" channels as you have suggested!

We happened upon it by mistake and I'm glad we did! Amazing program and I hope that it will be available on DVD. I liked that they talked about the Walt Disney Family Museum and showed it during construction. If anyone gets a chance to go to San Francisco, definitely make time for the museum! It's amazing!

BTW: The Pixar Story will be coming on cnbc either tonight or tomorrow I think....check it out!

I saw a part of it. Started watching about 30 minutes before his personal backyard railroad was shown! Such a great documentary!

it seems like this originally aired in 2001, 6 days after 9/11. im trying to figure out if its the same doc, they are both called the same thing. i think no one payed attention to it then because of 9/11.

i just realized its ironic that 9/11 and walts 100th anniversary happened in the same year. weird

My friends saw this and were raving about tonight while we were having dinner and playing cards....sigh...

i think so, but im not exactly sure, id like to have both and compare them . they might have added something new for the 2011 version or maybe they didnt im not sure

I had seen it before but just had to watch again. It's so good!! I would love to have it on DVD. When they talk about the day Walt passed I just sob .

Walt documentary is a great way to spend a few hours...but an even better documentary is Waking Sleeping Beauty. If you have ever wanted to get an insight of TWDC during the late 80's to mid 90's, this is a great way of doing so. It is well worth buying!

I agree...and created a topic on another one of the boards here about it.

Since I grew up in the 80s and 90s...it was a very eye-opening documentary...that lets you know exactly what happened and how it happened to bring Disney Animation from the grave to the top of the world. I got it via Netflix but am hoping to bu it sometime in the near future so I can watch it again...and again...
