Not sure if this has been done before on this board, but I thought id give it a shot.

I've got 2:

1. My wife and i were picked to be a part of the opening of DHS one morning, we were able to ride in a car that Walt actually used to give tours of Disneyland in. After the show we were driven down to RNR and were allowed to ride all by ourselves.

2. I have no clue who this little girl is or anything, but we were waiting for a bus to MK at POFQ one morning and this little girl that had to be 2 or 3 and saw the bus, she came running to the bus stop screaming "Magic Kingdom! Magic Kingdom".

Can I ask how you got picked for the opening at DHS? Did it seem to be a random process? That would be pretty awesome to ride in the car that Walt himself drove! And a private limo on RnR would also be pretty sweet!

We were standing in line before the park opened and a CM just came up to us and started talking to us, after a few minutes he asked if we wanted to be a part of the opening show. We were stunned, we still dont know why he picked us out of the group of people that were there.

Fun, I've just always wondered how they choose the different people they choose for parades and shows and such...

Yea, i think its just got to be right place and right time. The funny thing is we were there with another couple, they were running late getting to DH and got there just in time for the show to start and were super jealous of our private ride on RNR.

You snooze, you lose! It always pays to get up early and get to the parks as early as you are able
Any photos from your special car ride?

Actually yes we do have some I'll have to dig around for them, the other couple that were with us was able to get some really good photos. The CM also gave us a free photo of the two of us on RNR.

I think it would be so wonderful to be family of the day, but it's hard enough for our family together and ready to make it for rope drop. Getting there even earlier is beyond our ability.

The first time we went to WDW with the kids, we had a room at the Poly, lagoon/MK view. It was over a grad night weekend in May, and I still remember the fireworks going off late at night. We were all in bed, and the kids were asleep. Our curtains were open so we could watch the castle at night, and the colours of the fireworks filled the room. It was beautiful.

I don't remember looking at 2 am, but whenever I was awake, it was lit up. Could be because of Grad nights, but it was great to watch it change colours from the room.

This time last year I was at the Contemporary with my mom. We had a Magic Kingdom view. I woke up every couple of hours just to look at my beloved place. The park closed at 8pm that time of year. I remember noticing at 2am that the lights on the castle were off. I was sadly disappointed. I would have thought they kept them on all night long.

Hmmm, I would have thought the castle would be lit up all night too, maybe not with all the changing colors, but at least lit up!

Way back in '91 our family went to WDW for Christmas. While enjoying the Hoop-de-do dinner show in Ft. Wilderness my Dad was completely focused on a leg of fried chicken he was about to sink his teeth into when the very pretty blond actress came up behind him, and proceeded to pull his chair away from the table, sat in his lap, and sang to him in full spotlight . He absolutely loved it!!! We all had tears streaming down our faces we were laughing so hard, and I have to admit mine were somewhat emotional tears too, since he had survived a quadruple bi-pass just months before. Seeing him having such a great time has to be my favorite memory. She gave him a big smooch on the cheek before letting him get back to his dinner
