Ok , I love controlled temperatures as much as the next guy. If its 100 degrees outside obviously i want to have ac . But at disney they take the ac thing to a new level that really sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable and even sick. I was wondering if anyone else ever had this happen? usually its worst in the summer when its 100 outside and blasting freezing in every store, ride, and bus. Basicaly after a few hours of going from cold to hot hot to cold i just start to feel freezing and when u go into one of the ultra cold places it makes u feel literally sick and nauseous(sp?) And the buses, in the summer they are so cold and the outside so hot that the windows of the buses look like they were in a rainstorm even on a cloudless day- they are all soaked with condensation and stuff- i find sitting on that freezing cold bus for 40 minutes, in shorts and a t shirt, sweaty from the day so the sweat is drying making you even coolder...that i just get freezing to the point of feeling pretty ill.


so i was just wondering if anybody else has this happen to them. its never happened to me anywhere but disney and i think its because they air condition so heavily and u go so fast between hot and cold repeatedly . am i alone?

I don't know if the AC does it but rapid changes in humidity can make me feel ill. Being from California our most humid days are still dry by their standards.

Man, the feeling of walking in to air conditioning from a hot human Orlando day is one of my favorite feelings. I also like walking by open stores and feeling the rush of cool air.

I second that,there's nothing like ducking into a cold store or walking through a store just to cool off for a second, Orlando heat can be brutal.

Whoa! Cali actually has humidity?!?!?!
Yup, going repeatedly between a/c and extreme heat can indeed make you feel a little yucky, so I like to just stay in the a/c whenever possible

I know what you mean, master. I often get summertime colds from hot to A/C, and WDW is infamous for blasting icy cold air.

I do usually carry a light sweater with me because of the AC.

i mean i like the ac feeling on a hot day too - for a while, but after a few hours it starts to get to me

Since we're from Calgary, Canada, where it's always colder outside than inside, my kids have a hard time adjusting to it being colder inside than out. Last year, we went to Tony's and practically froze to death!

Sounds like you need to take them to Disney more often and "toughen" 'em up!

Ok, here's the answer, and I know this because when I worked there people did ask us this question and we had to know what to tell them. With so many people walking in and out and opening doors, if the temp was kept at, lets say 75, it would still feel like it was in the 80's or higher. How magical would it be to have everyone working there sweating and stinking all day? Not to mention that people do need to have colder places to go into when it's so freaking hot out. I worked there, outside, in adventureland/frontierland for a summer. I loved have to walk through the breeze way, or Pecos Bill's!

I have actually found that in recent years the Disney A/C has not been as cold. IMO, I have noticed a rise in temperature in some of the places. I have even been to one or two stores where the CMs look flustered from working in humid warm conditions even though it was an air conditioned store. Secondly, I have noticed some Fantaslyand attractions to not be air conditioned as well as they used to. I would easily throw SWSA and Pooh in the top slots.

They could be dialing the temperatures back to save a little money. It must cost them a fortune for heating and cooling

To me, it varies from place to place, and from visit to visit. Although, the only near constant is that the Universe of Energy is usually well air-conditioned during my visits in the summer/fall months.
