Interesting that it seems that were put in to keep people from getting out instead of preventing them from falling out.

Not unless you see the way some people behave in the rides! If they've could lap bars and restraints in the old Sky Bucket ride, maybe it could still be here today!

I agree with this addition and fully support it. It is extremely annoying to shut down an entire ride because a guest is impatient.

If you are referring to "Flash" Mountain then maybe they needed chest restraints!

But if you can't do stuff with the cameras what is the point?

That is tame compared to half the crap I've seen idiots do on Splash (getting out of the log to impress their friends...)!!
Saw the lap bars myself today and I'll wait and see what it's like riding with them until I make a judgement.

I'm legitimately excited about the lap bars. Talk to any Splash CM and you'll get an idea of how much time that attraction loses thanks to people standing up and/or getting out. Load times will hike a bit, but the net gain will be a plus.
And, you know, safety and stuff.

I never realized that people tried to get out in the middle of the ride?!

Regularly.

I'm going to say I am not there, just to be safe.

I like it and don't like it. For obvious reasons, the idiots that jump out and wander or the people who don't understand that the ride is not over yet, I like it. However, being a guy of decent girth... yeah a big guy... It was already tight climbing in and out of the logs. How much space will these take away? I fear that these will prevent me from riding until I lose a little of my lotso huggin-ness.
MadEye - You've seen them. Are they personal lap bars or is it one for both seats?

I was on it when the ride stopped for about 10 min. Three whole boat loads of people just jumped up out of their logs. The cast member was yelling to stay where they were, they all just walked by him not listening at all.
