Rejoice all you lucky DVC owners as there is a new kid on the block... or will be shortly:

Are we getting too over-populated with DVC's or can there never be too many? Let me know your thoughts...

I just hope they aren't going to get to a point where you are not able to stay on Disney property if you aren't a DVC member! :(

It won't get that bad. Disney makes a ****load of money from guests staying at the resorts, DVC or not.

But they make a whole bunch from DVC memberships too right?

They won't require DVC memberships...trust me.

Now...what they can do is offer more perks for being a DVC member...which would make more people want to become members...increasing their revenue.

I agree with Big. They need to incentivize DVC memberships with more perks. We thought about joining, and may still do it someday, but it would sure help if they made it more worth our while.
As for there being "yet another DVC resort"... I don't see a problem with that. Just so the area doesn't get too over-crowded with buildings as far as the eye can see.
Which begs the question: Where are they considering putting this thing? The article didn't say.

I would think this kind of resort would be near water...since it is supposed to have a beach/coast feel to it. As far as space...they could maybe put it across from DHS...on the other side of World Drive. There is a little bit of land there but not a whole lot of water...which I guess they could create themselves.

There is also room closer to Blizzard Beach...but that puts it away from the rest of the parks other than Animal Kingdom...which maybe they could do to give that area of the park more guests.

I thought I saw something about it being built near the Coronado Springs...
EDIT: just went back and read the article again. It does mention being located between DHS and Coronado Springs, although I guess that does encompass a wide area

Haha...I guess I missed that part too in the article.

Funny that it is exactly where I thought they would put something. I think it is a great spot!

Yeah, I guess I needed to be more specific: where, exactly, in the huge area between DHS and CS are they planning to put it? It's gotta be almost a mile distance as the crow flies, and even farther by existing roadways. Also, I agree: it seems like for a resort like this, proximity to water (or the ability to create a realistic waterfront) would be high up on the priority list as far as deciding on feasibility. Not much in the form of usable waterways in that area. I'm not being critical... just curious for more specifics as to how they're planning to do this.

With as over built as WDW and the Kissimmee/Orlando area is now. I mean there a lot of hotels that never get past 60% occupancy. Why is Disney building another Hotel? As for placement, WDW just opened up the north side of the property a couple of years ago, you wuold think they would use it.
