i have seen pictures of empty pits where they were installed, currently tracking those down.

Sounds like you are talking about the simulator bays for BW. I'm sure those are empty. I'm talking about the CC theater.

They seriously half-assed the tribute, aside from it staying way longer than it was supposed to (and in turn being replaced by something new) they left all the signage for the previous ride up on the exit side. And again, as I have said, it entertains up to a dozen people a day.
