Epcot Future World Closing Hours

I was excited to see this tidbit in the Mouseplanet WDW Park Update for the week of 9/27:
…It looks like Epcot's Future World has finally drawn enough late-hours interest to earn full-day status. Starting Sunday October 3, Future World once again will officially close with the park at 9 p.m. Now if we could only get World Showcase to open at 9 a.m. again…
While it is true that the hours on the Disneyworld website now show Futureworld closing at 9pm, unfortunately, nobody seems to have told the cast members. I went over there Tuesday night and the same attractions still close at 7 as before: Imagination (ride and EO), Listen to The Land, Ellen, and of course Innoventions. Also, the posted park hours outside the gates still show FW closing at 7pm.

Let's hope this is gonna happen though, as those offset hours always annoy me.

Future World itself closes at 9. The attractions that closed at 7 still close at seven. I know, it's stupid!

I think I see what you are saying - that they are calling it a 9pm close and then posting attraction-specific hours like they do for Innoventions and, more obviously, in the MK at attractions like the Liberty Square Riverboat. If that is true, then nothing has really changed.

You got that right!!
That stinks because I was super excited when looking at park hours for my next trip.

Bummer...

Likewise. We were initially thrilled... until the truth reared its ugly head... :x

Yeah...weren't SSE, TestTrack, and Mission Space open until Illuminations started anyway?

Yep. So there's not really much of a change, is there?

So is Soarin' and the Seas with Nemo.

I myself was looking forward to Innoventions at night... :(

Let me check my sources to see if I can find out what's going on.

I think this might be a re-wording of what is already going on. I know most attractions were open until 9PM or midnight when they had the EMH. The things that closed at 7 were closed at 7 no matter what. That included Innoventions, and Figment. Other than that, most of the stuff was up and running.

That makes no sense, why is it still open and all attractions aren't?!

I was all excited when I first started reading, then as I scrolled down through the posts I started to look like this :(
You'll have to check it out when you go b-babe and report back to us.

They may close down the less populated rides/areas simply because they are not a huge draw for people. Though I am surprised that (in 2008) Ellen's energy adventure was open during extra magic hours since it's not exactly a guest magnet.

It's been pretty pack every time we have been in UoE.

I wonder what draws the people in? If you ever look at the area at night there is nothing visually drawing people into the place. It actually looks like the ride is closed during the extra magic hours. I guess everyone just loves Bill Nye.
