Mickey's Not So Scarey Halloween Party

Post by snugglyevil » Sep Wed 15, 2010 3:29 pm

It starts this Friday!

Anyone planning on going at any point? I'm really hoping to get down this year for it. I so want to see what the t-shirts will look like

Take pics!

I am doing what I always do every year----watch their special fireworks from the Polynesian Resort while eating pineapple ice cream :P

ya, i'll be there, but we won't be in the park during the"scary" hours. it's nice, the parade very is good, but the firework display is substandard (if you're comparing it to wishes). i think for the extra price, the fireworks should be superior, not less. i guess the true value here is the extended hours, and virtually wait free lines to every ride (that is still open). also, the fun costumes many of the character's are wearing. i think my personal favorite is the headless horseman, when and where else are you ever going to see him. just be in your parade spot early, he comes through quick, and well ahead of the parade! there are some fun souvenirs given out at a few of the candy lines as well. this is something that we'll probably do more regularly as the children get older, can stay up later, and take advantage of being able to hit more rides more often. still, if you've never done it, it's worth checking out, i'm sure you'll have fun. oh ya, they give a special photopass card out during those hours, you can't use your regular. don't worry, it can be combined with your regular photopass before you leave. just bring your cards to any camera shop in any of the lands and they'll put 'em together for you so you won't be extorted for 2 cd's!

Careful, you might get the Dole Whip after you if you call their precious treat "ice cream"

My family is going in 15 days (but who's counting ), and we've never been to MNSSHP. We usually go at Christmas. I'm trying to gather all the tips I can so we don't miss something. Does the HM do anything different?

If you like candy...BRING A BIG BAG !!!! I have been to 3 MNSSHP now, and every time I get more and more candy. If you trick or treat at the Alice in Wonderland area through the back way of toontown to tomorrowland, you will get some great character moments. 2 years ago I had my pic taken with Mr. Walrus, and all of the candy givers are Human playing cards!!!

Cool... if anyone gets pictures with characters you normally don't see in the parks or characters in interesting costumes, PLEASE put them for us.

That's the other thing I've heard. Cinderella's Coach has been out in the past and the princes are with the princesses. I'm looking forward to seeing some rare characters.

you're probably aware that they've "improved" haunted mansion. if you're looking for different, it's already more different than you likely want. this has nothing to do with the halloween party though, nor will you be seeing anything different ...in that way, on the ride. the year i was there, they did trick out the hearse outside, as you leave the ride. they had it set up for a photo opportunity. other than the dressing the whole park gets, which is visible during regular hours as well, i can't think of any changes anywhere. i mean, they offer candy/stuff throughout the park, all characters are now dressed in costume, you will also see characters that you don't normally see. the parade and fireworks are different, but otherwise it's like a magic hours night, with no physical changes to anything. it's roomier, not as many people. don't miss the parade, otherwise just really enjoy the freedom of movement and quick access to all you favorite rides.

I wonder if they will have the hitchhiking ghosts like they had at the Haunted Mansion anniversary party in DL? Those characters looked awesome in the photos ~ I can only imagine how cool they were in person  :D

as much as you want. and by that i mean that you can go through the same line as many times as you want, there's no limit. there's also typically no line, it's more of a long walk through empty roped off turnstyles. i would suggest getting a "candy" location map. not because you don't want to miss a single piece of candy (which is largely junk, and usually a single piece), but because the harder to find stations usually have the better stuff... not cheap qaulity candy! souvenir memorabilia, like commemorative mickey halloween (mini) decks of cards, etc. . stuff like this even we went through the lines again to get a couple more. you never know, so take your time, have your map handy, hit all the character photo spots, and hope for a good surprise at a few of the candy stations.

Ok, now that makes sense. I was wondering why adults would want to get some candy on vacation...but cool souvenirs ~ that would be really awesome :goofy_bounce:
