Fire at Splash Mountain?

Disney Unplugged on wdwinfo.com is reporting that have been reports of a fire at Splash Mountain. Not much detail other than the ride was evacuated followed by all of Frontierland.

Yes there was an electrical fire at Splash. I will know more later. I have a CM in the family that works the ride. They will tell me more tonight!

Looks like there was no fire, just a burning smell. It's good to see WDW taking all necessary precautions when dealing with a situation that could cause harm to riders.

Here's the scoop, There "WAS" a small electrical fire in the computer room of Splash Mountain. The area between SM and the Railroad Station was closed for about two and a half hours. There were no injuries and no real damage. I was told it was a very minor fire in one of the components on a rack in the room. It's a redundant system and it did not affect the ride or operations of the system. SM was closed for two and a half to clear smoke out of the room, it's a very small closed in area.

That's the "SCOOP"!!

Here's a side note: Does anybody know where I can find a size XXX pair of tights so I can do a video of this report for Subsonic? ImageImage

Wow I have not really been on for a while thanks to my crazy college hours. It is nice to see Disney taking all the proper precautions to ensure the safety of the guests in this situation. Thanks Jacca for getting us the complete inside scoop as to what happened.
