Silliest Thing You've Ever Done At WDW

Post by rphillips14 » Aug Sat 14, 2010 5:57 am

On our first trip to Epcot, we were waiting for Illuminations to start and we were EXHAUSTED. Sitting on the bridge near the back the crowd grew and it became apparent that if we were to watch Illuminations we would have to "stand" our ground, crowded, with 3 children amid all those people. We were just too tired so we sat on the bridge and ate a crepe. We "listened" to Illuminations but we never saw it, on that trip. Later, on another trip (when we were less tired) we saw it and loved it.

Aww, that is sad :( At least it has lovely music and you got to see it on a return trip!
I hate crowds and understand how it would be difficult to convince three tired children they had to stand in a crush of people to watch a show...

Hmm probably the silliest thing is driving around to at least 3 different resorts in search of a particular cupcake.

rphillips, that doesn't sound silly. That sounds wise. After all, there is always another trip.

What cupcake were you looking for, Lizzy?

My silliest memory is of our family sitting in Philharmagic at the end of the Pirates and Princess party with only one other family in the audience and shouting, "NO, DONALD! MICKEY SAID NOT TO TOUCH THE HAT!" just before he did. Wendy had done that when she took us to Philharmagic at the end of the family magic tour, and we'd always wanted to do it, too. We just needed the right moment for the silliness.

Speaking of silly, the Family Magic Tour is truly a silly experience from start to finish - crawling through Cosmic Rays to avoid Sonny Eclipse, imitating Dumbo (my favorite character), talking to the Tiki Gods. It was a very silly morning.

That tour sounds like a truly entertaining thing to do with younger children on a trip!

That sounds like fun!

This isn't very silly but on our honeymoon trip my husband and I kissed for our Splash Mountain picture. It is a really great picture, especially because the other people in our log looked truly terrified by the big drop!

Another silly/crazy thing that we did was on our second trip. It was a beautiful, early March day about 70 degrees and sunny. We flew in from freezing Kentucky and thought we had landed in the tropics-It was so warm, sunny and beautiful. We got to Port Orleans-riverside and then ran to TMK. It was fantastic until the sun went down and we didn't pack any "cold weather" gear. We had to go and buy nearly a couple of hundred dollars worth of sweatshirts and still nearly froze as the temp fell into the fifties. From that day forward we planned much better for daytime vs. night temp changes.

I always get weird looks as I am boarding the plane in the snow while wearing shorts, but I know it will be sunny and warm when we get to Florida and I don't want to waste any time having to change! Plus, now I don't want to take up valuable carry-on space with clothes
Buying a sweatshirt if it gets cold is part of the souvenir experience...although the price sometimes is a bit of a shock!

We always look silly when we board the plane too Amy, leaving from chilly Chicago! Brrrr! Especially in Dec. It's so great when you land in Orlando though! :D

I did that same thing looking for toffee covered peanuts. Disneyland has them but no store in WDW does. I went from MK through the con temp and poly and finally Goofys Candy Co at DTD to no avail.
No one's gloomy or complaining while the flatware's entertaining.

Oh where do I begin. I have done numerous silly things in WDW. The one that sticks out right now was proposing to Minnie Mouse. Video for those interested:

The silliest thing I ever did was sing "I wanna be like you" from the Jungle Book with a Cousin Louie orangutan character. There were all kinds of people around waiting in line to see him. I was embarassed, but thought "Why not?" I was in Disney after all.

Disney is the best place to be silly. Everyone is in the mood for a good time so if you act a little crazy no one really thinks it is weird :D Unless it is a grown Tennessee-New Yorker dancing in a red sequined dress...that might draw a few stares
