Yay! The article does say that it will be renamed the TTA Peoplemover...but I will still probably just call it the Wedway Peoplemover...Just as long as they don't take it out ala DL

Yay! Just in time for my visit. For once I can say Peoplemover and my kids won't look at me strangely. Well stranger than normal that is.
And I agree with boilerbabe, they need to switch Epcot back to the way it was! I want my Figment back!

So.. as far as I can tell, nothing is going to change but the name, right? Cause I really like the ride the way it is right now, and I don't honestly see how they would change it anyways.
But that is pretty darn cool.

Very interesting. Good to see them changing the name back. I did notice that the "Blue Line" was not there this past trip. It was only being called Tomorrowland Transit Authority.

This may sound silly, and you can roll your eyes, but I never knew it used to be called the Peoplemover until recently. I thought the term 'Peoplemover' was solely used in Disneyland, where the attraction was taken out long ago, but I always called it by that name. Now I know.

They did use in it WDW for a period of time before it called TTA. Y'know, when I first saw the title of this topic thread, I had at first thought it was going to be about finally the return of the attraction to DLR's MK. Was disappointed to discover otherwise.

The same thought popped into my head too mindflipper...since the track in DL is just sitting there unused. What a shame

So there I was last night.... all snuggled into bed, getting nice and drowsy with a purring kitty on my chest, when suddenly from right beside my ear comes a squeal that sent both me and the cat straight up, hanging by our claws from the ceiling!
Apparently Mouseoholic had decided to check her tweets right before turning out the light... and discovered this news! Did I manage to convey her sense of excitement...?
I told her she should get on Subsonic and be the first to start a thread about it, but she didn't want to get out of bed and turn the computer back on. Silly me, to think that she would have even had a chance to be the first here with the news....

Lucky that both you and the cat went up, otherwise you might have been doing a kitty-claw-ectomy in the middle of the night

Are they changing the attraction or just the name? I'm not clear on that.
FWIW, I still call it WEDway...

I am with both of you on this...
Lion, I didn't know until recently either that WDW's version was ever called Peoplemover. That was how I distinguished the 2 attractions...TTA for WDW and PM for DL.
Mindflipper, I also though that this might be the answer we have long awaited! But alas, no...

I hate seeing the track empty...but I'd rather see an empty track than have them rip it out completely. Someday hopefully they will make a new PM ride for DLR and maybe this WDW name change is the start. (hopeful)

Yep, WDW was once called the WEDway Peoplemover. In fact, even though it's now TTA, my parents still call it "the Peoplemover" because that's what they remembered it being called.
