Beach Club vs. Yacht Club

We're getting ready for our first stay at the Beach Club, and I'm curious to anyone's thoughts on BC versus YC. This is our first time staying outside of the Magic Kingdom resort area and the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I liked the feel of the YC a bit better than the BC though I've never actually stayed there... I have wandered around it though, a mid-day adventure that is an easy walk from Epcot. Be sure to eat at the ice cream shop - it is a good place to take a break in the middle of the day.

I have stayed at both. We like the Beach Club better. Don't miss the breakfast buffet at Cape May Cafe, also Beaches & Cream has killer sundaes and shakes. If you don't mind paying a bit more per night ask for a water view room. :) Lots to do on Boardwalk at night after parks close. Short walk to Epcot and short boat ride to Mgm Studios. In my opinion you can't go wrong if your staying at any of the Boardwalk resorts.
Enjoy!

I haven't stayed at either resort. I really would like to, though. It's in the perfect spot, just like Disneynut was describing. I also believe you can't go wrong if you stay there, and I haven't even stayed there myself! When I do finally get to go, which resort do you think I should stay at first?

We are really looking forward to it! I think we're gonna try to tackle the Kitchen Sink at Beaches & Cream! :? :D

I've seen it - that thing is huge! You won't need to eat for a week after that feast...

We have stayed at both and love both. The Yacht club is geared more to Convention groups, and the Beach Club more to families, in my opinion. I can remember staying at the Yacht Club years ago and we had a water view, at that time the Boardwalk was under construction. We had no idea the Boardwalk would turn out like it did.

One more thing. I, too, highly recommend Beaches and Cream. If you have purchased the Disney Dining Experience, you can get your discount there. Prior to this, Beaches and Cream gave no discounts of any kind, not even to Cast Members.

My vote is for The Beach Club. I've stayed at both resorts and found the BC to be more family oriented and generally more upbeat. I was at the YC only once and all of the Miss America Contestants were staying there. My daughters had a ball getting autographs! It was beautiful, but the decor is darker and the atmosphere more subdued. I enjoy the pastels and New England beachy feel of the BC. And of course there's Beaches and Cream...yum. Also the walk to Epcot is even shorter! lol

Sounds like that the Beach Club is the majority's favorite. And everyone has something positive to say about Beaches & Cream. I am really looking foward to staying there in the future. It sounds like the whole atmosphere is great.

I like BC better than YC. I think YC seems more uptight & BC seems more relaxed. They share the same pool, which happens to be the best pool on property.

i really just stayed at the YC but the two share the same restaurants which are between the two hotles and the pools is like a mini water park, some of the resturants that the two hotles share between the two of them are the Yach mans steak house which has killer steaks, Beaches and cream which is famous for it's ice cream sundae's and the so called "Kitchen Sink" and for breakfast Cape May Cafe.

I've stayed at both and here is an easy way that I can sum it up:

If you are a family with small kids and plan to be up for park opening: Beach Club
If you are a family with older kids and are just taking it easy: Yacht Club
