Discounts with annual pass??

Post by yodiwan1 » Jul Tue 06, 2010 9:56 am

So my wife may finally be letting us get annual passes. What discounts do you get with them? I looked online and it just says discounts and special offers. Any info would help, from hotels to meals, and shopping, thanks!!!

I know you get 20% off at most stores in the parks. The AP website also periodically offers discounted room rates.

You also get discounts on tours, some Halloween party nights, Christmas party nights, and sometimes on LaNouba tickets.

Honestly, the food discounts are a joke. For many restaurants, they are only good at lunch. And if you want to eat at one of the seven Epcot restaurants that honor lunch discounts, it better be a weekday. Crazy.

Honestly, check www.mousesavers.com. That's where I got a lot of information regarding the discounts for AP holders. I don't know if they still offer Disney Dining Experience for AP holders for an extra $60. It got you 20% off on food at just about anywhere (not on character meals or much of Downtown). We used it in 2005 and 2006 and loved it. Also, AP holders can get discounts on hotel rooms (check mousesavers for the promo codes), food, merchandise at select locations, mini golf, etc.

The Disney Dining Experience is now called Tables In Wonderland, and AP's get $25 off. They also offer AP discounts off Room & Dining packages right now. Their room discounts are pretty good, and I like getting 2-for-1 mini golf.

I just wish they'd stop skimping on the dining discounts for quick serve. For example, last year they gave you 10% off Studio Catering Company & Tomorrowland Noodle Station any time. Probably others, but I don't remember. Now they don't have any "any time" discounts with just the AP except for Yak & Yeti.

An added benefit is you can still book packages. These are called room only packages. This allows you to take advantage of such offers as free dining.

This is a seasonal discount. Usually you only get 10% off in some of the stores.

IMO, the best advantage of having an AP is the room discounts. Most times during the year, you can get from 25-40% off of your room rate. This is a huge thing.

You also get free parking at all of the parks and invitations to AP only events - previews for new attractions, etc.

Since you are getting AP's, I should let you know that you really have to be pro-active and check on the discounts periodically if you want to use them. They say that they send AP emails and mail, but it's very spotty service. The AP website is the best place to see the most updated discounts & special rates.

Enjoy your AP's!
