I don't remember seeing that ad on TV, but I'm pretty sure that the shot of Mickey atop SSE was used during the intro to the Disney Sunday Movie in the '80s. Ah, old EPCOT Center. If I had a holodeck, that's the first thing I'd recreate.

I don't remember the commercial either but I do remember the Mickey waving from atop Spaceship Earth and thinking how cool that would be to be able to go up there and take pictures!

Nope it was before my time. However, I really wish we could go back to the EPCOT Center days. From what I have come to understand, they were the best.

Now if it was the EPCOT Center and Disney-MGM Studios days that would be amazing!

Did anyone notice that the aerial shot was pre-WoL? I thought that was pretty cool.

Well before the commercial begins it does say 1988 (probably filmed earlier than that) and Wonders of Life opened in October of 89.

I miss WoL. More than just one attraction inside the pavilion.

I miss EPCOT Center AND MGM. I love Disney now too, I would never stop loving it or going. But, when I see old commercials like these, I get really sad and wish we could *SNAP* and go back to the original days of these parks!!! I think they were much grander!

The commercial as a whole seems vaguely familiar but the view of Mickey on Spaceship Earth is definitely memorable. It honestly makes me shiver to think of the cast member playing Mickey way up on top of Spaceship Earth. Oh I'd like to interview that person!

You can be sure that Mickey was wearing some kind of safety harness that was firmly attached to the building. No way he could have fallen off. Still, I've read that the aluminum that makes up SSE's coating is smoother than glass. I wonder if it was hard for Mickey to maintain his footing?

Mickey probably had suction cups on his shoes to be able to stand up there like that.

As for going back to the classical EPCOT Center and MGM Studios, that would be amazing.
