Made my reservations for the Spirit of Aloha show at the Poly in August. Gave my kids the option of either the Luau (which they chose), or the Hoop de Doo music review.

I got category 1 seats. What advice can you give me?

The last time DH and I saw the Spirit of Aloha show, I was extremely disappointed. We were there for our honeymoon in '06. The last time I had seen the show it was still the original. They've added a cheesy storyline to it now. They still do the traditional dances but I feel it's lost something. If you've never seen the original, t hen this might not matter to you at all.

The food was still excellent, make sure you go there hungry! If you have smaller kids, they will enjoy getting up on the stage and dancing! Hope you have a great time, let me know what you think!

Suggestion: make sure you have your camera and/or video settings ready for low light with action. The fire juggler is AWESOME, and you will want good pictures of that.
Also, try not to fill up on the salad before the meat comes out! It's tempting to do that because they take so long (probably on purpose) to bring the meat out that you just keep munching on the salad...

Not that I saw. Probably too traumatic for the kiddos to see a whole animal on a spit...!

Not on the spit - the pit. In Luaus, they practically burry the pig in this pit and smoke it for hours. I saw it on TV, and it has forever made me never want to go to a Luau in Hawaii if I ever visit.

All you can eat, beverages included, cocoanut bread.....works for me!!

One thing to note, you don't need (& shouldn't) tip extra for the service. If you leave extra money on your table, your server may very well chase you down to return it.

I agree NaCler, I think he's the one being beckoned.

After all, you don't think he would post a picture of himself mousekedrooling, do you?

haha... Yeah, since it's Disney they have to stay in character no matter what and that's why they are still smiling.
