Mama Melrose music

Post by Lion Sleeps Tonight » Mar Fri 19, 2010 5:15 pm

Hey all! I was just making some dining reservations, and was remembering my dining experience at Mama Melrose. I remembered a few of the tracks that played in the restaurant, but one in particular stood out and is even now in my head.

Does anyone know some of the track names? The song I'm looking for is sorta a pleasant, catchy tune sung by a guy I believe. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

Same here. We are considering booking for our May trip. 5 days, and we will only book 2 sit down meals. 2 others will be outside the parks.

Ooooh, I ate there last May and remember the music. I remember my husband and I commenting that the loop wasn't long enough because we heard it like two and a half times through during the course of our meal. What songs do you remember from it? Maybe remembering a few will help me remember more of them ...

Mama Melrose is one of my favorite restaurants. I've been there a couple of times, and haven't been disappointed. I've heard the quality has gone down over the years, but I don't think so.

It's been a while; I believe there was a Frank Sinatra song in there, and maybe Dionne Warwick? I might be way off :P

I believe there were a few Sinatra, Dean Martin, Shirley Bassey, Perry Commo, and things on that order. Being Full Blooded Italian, it reminded me of the weddings I used to go to as a kid. I think I have a lot of that on my computer now.

Thanks I'll look them up.

Edit. Ah, I don't think the song I'm thinking about it sung by them. It's an upbeat song and I'm pretty sure it's a guy singing, and there are some high-ish notes.

Was it jazz or big band style?

It was band style. I remember it was pretty upbeat, and there's a pretty catchy melody to it. Don't remember any of the lyrics.

I booked an ADR for Mama Melrose as well...never eaten there before. I hope you can find the music because I am sure I'll be looking for it after my trip!

For anyone who cares...I went to Mama Melrose and actually sat in the waiting area for about 20 minutes just to listen to the loop. The song is called Walk of Life by Dire Straits.
