...or (hopefully for all our sakes) it's rarely unique kind of stupidity. Either way, when one nut does something insane like this, it's foolishly taken as encouragement by other nuts to do the same. I truely hope not.

Maybe he was testing Disney security or something. Was there any follow-up article later in the evening that stated why he decided to spend his vacation over seas getting "secured".

All he said was that he was joking... Makes you wonder what they consider a joke over in Germany, doesn't it?

There are some truly twisted people out there, living in their own little worlds.

I'm sure this bloke thought it would be a really funny joke to say that, and in his own mind he played out the scenario in a way that worked out just fine. Sadly for him, reality has a way of b***ch-slapping stupid people upside the head to wake them up.

I had a friend in high school who did something similar. Mind you this was before 9/11, so people didn't take it as seriously as they do post 9/11. He was flying back from an engineering fair for school and in his checked luggage had two PVC pipes filled with cement and a bunch of wires and stuff. When security x-rayed his bag they thought it was a bomb. When security asked him what the stuff in his bag was for, he said it was the pieces of a dismantled bomb. Even though it was really something else (I don't really remember what it was). He was detained for 10 hours until security figured out that you could not make a bomb out the equipment in his bag. Needless to say, he did not go to anymore engineering fairs and I don't think his parents let him leave the house until he was 21.
