Has anyone ever been in WDW on Oct 1st before?
Wondering if they celebrate/observe the day at all.

CMs usually wear a button commemorating the Birthday or Anniversary as some call it.

EPCOT Center also opened on this date 27 years ago! If we can dream it, then we can do it!

I (In my best Johnny Carson) did not know that. My DW did!

I'm wearing my EPCOT 25th Anniversary shirt right now to celebrate!
I was at EPCOT for its 25th anniversary, and they gave us pins for WDW's 36th Birthday to wear on our costumes for the week/month.
The best was the little program sheets they printed out that was passed around WDW for EPCOT's opening. I have most of them collected from September 1982 til a few days past opening day. It's real neat reading them even it's only a single sheet of paper.

I knew this and had forgotten to include EPCOT when I posted my facebook status this morning. Part of the problem of functioning on minimum sleep. It is always a great day when you look back and try to imagine what life was like without this happy little place. Thank goodness that time period is way before my time!
So, Happy 38th Birthday Magic Kingdom, Polynesian, and Contemporary. Happy 27th Birthday EPCOT!

Ouch, Len90!!! You make us sound soooooo old for those of us who were around back then. I was 4.5 years old when WDW opened. Its been fun (and disappointing sometimes too) to see how the WDW has changed over the years.
I still have my pre-EPCOT poster with SSE with the opening date of October 1, 1982. I didn't get to go in October, but I did get there in November 1982. No Horizons, no Living Seas, no Journey into Imagination, no Morocco, no Norway - but it was still an incredible park.
It's hard to believe it's 27 years later since EPCOT opened. Hopefully, in 3 years, maybe they will do a musical history CD boxset for EPCOT on its 30th.
Hard to believe that WDW will be 40 years in two years from now. Doesn't seem that far away, does it?

I was 11 when WDW opened. My first visit was in 1975. There was only the MK but it had a little bit of everything from the other parks.

Very appropriate, its DD's birthday and she is such a Disney nut. I had read that along the way but forgotten.
