Lost travel companians? How do YOU cope?

Post by Sharonofwindham » Sep Sun 27, 2009 4:44 pm

Since the loss of my sister who was my Disney travel buddy, I have a very hard time enjoying thoughts of certain things Disney, such as favorite rides, etc. Anyone on Subsonic experienced such a loss? If so, how do YOU cope? I can't imagine life without Disney, and I know she wouldn't want me to feel sad about our favorite things.

I'm so sorry for your loss. And I have not experienced such a loss. Was her passing recent? I lost a friend in March to cancer. You never stop missing the person or thinking about them, but the pain does lessen a little, it's like time numbs you a little. I understand a friend is certainly not the same as a sibling, I'm not trying to diminish your loss or pain. It may take you a long while, but hopefully you will be able to enjoy Disney again one day. Hang on to your cherished memories with your sister! And when you do enjoy Disney again, do it for her!
