What's the opening date for the new Fantasyland opens?

Found out the answer for myself: 2012 and 2013. What an impressive overhaul of that part of the park!!

I guess I have mixed emotions?! So, it looks like they're getting rid of Mickey's Toontown with the exception of Barnstormer?! I liked Mickey and Minnie's house. I just skimmed over the articles, did it say when they're going to close down Fantasyland? And a Star Tours overhaul is way over due!!!

According to one article, Mickey and Minnie's House will be moved off Main Street. I'm not keen on this - Main Street should be left as is. However, as the Tomorrowland Terrace restaurant is barely ever open - maybe rip it out and replace it with their homes? Or how about that Skyway terminal located next to Small World? That would be definitely the best location for Mickey's home. Would even require much renovation! It seems to me there are many better locations to move their homes other than Main Street...

Fantasyland isn't going to close. They are supposed be running everything while they refurb.... from what I've read so far anyway

I figure the only thing that would ever need to shut down would be dumbo, but they could build the 2nd one, then shut down the origial, then move the original over by the new one

Yeah, apparently it was said that Minnie & Mickey are going to get a very special place to live

Wow. This looks pretty impressive. Not sure if I like the idea yet or not, but it certainly makes an impact. Anyone else think it seems like a throw down between Giant!Fantasyland and HarryPotterLand? It also seems a bit weird to make a new Cinderella mini land when she already owns the best real estate in the park.

I can't say as I'll shed any tears over the loss of ToonBirthdayStarLand. I have to admit I'm surprised they're going this big, though.

To be honest, I thought they'd forgotten how to go this big.

Very interesting.

I always hate change. However, I will try and be open to this since it seems that Disney is really going all out on this. It really might be one of the best things they do for the park. I guess only time will tell. It should be interesting to see how Fantasyland is going to look with all the construction walls up. My only concern is that will this turn Fantasyland into something like a mini amusement park that are all over the country.

Interesting to see that they are going with two dumbos now. I would have thought they could have come with another ride.

Team Disney Orlando, the higher-ups who decide what to do with WDW, suck at their jobs. It wasn't their call, I guarantee it. The people they answer to more than likely forced them to accept it.

And yes, this is more than likely an answer to Harry Potterland. I'll be sitting here awaiting both patiently. :D

Thank You to Google Earth :)
Hopefully it will help others like myself.

Now I can see where it is all going to go I fully approve. In principle any way.
Now go throw some pixie dust and create some Magic.

From that overlay, looks like they switched the Dumbo and Pixie Hollow sections. At least thats what it looks like in the concept art. Time will tell.

Have you seen the video? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08W5Os-Wnj0 It looks to be the most well-themed land this side of Disney Sea.
