Favorite Experience at Mickey's Halloween Party

Post by missynole » Aug Wed 19, 2009 12:58 pm

While I'm not going to the Halloween party this year, I thought it would be fun as we get closer to the WDW party dates to see what everyones favorite experience at the party would be. Not just "seeing the parade" or getting candy, but actually experiencing something unique at the party like someone handing out a HUGE BAG OF CHOCOLATE CANDY. Or even, having someone from the parade come up to you and pose for a picture. You know, unique and out of the ordinary. There's a lot of creative people on this board. Have fun with this!

It was either 1999 or 2000 when my DS was little. My DW was wearing the Old Hag costume and decided to take the little one back to the resort as he was tired. As they made their way to the castle the characters were there.Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs were there and she asked for a photo with Snow Whie holding the poison apple that came with the costume. She got a great picture with Snow White holding her arms up in fear as she tried to give her the apple as the Dwarfs looked on.A 1 in a lifetime photo. When we got home a couple of days later,we took the film to Wally world to get them developed and lo and behold, they destroyed the pictures. It wasn't the camera, the camera worked fine.We need to go back and recreate that picture.

I will mention 2. First last year my wife and I got our pics taken with Mr. Walrus from Alice in WOnderland. In 28 years, this is the onlt time I have ever seen him in the parks! THe other was when I was a CP. I began the night working and met a Jungle Cruise skipper that was handing otu candy with me. We date shortly after. That same night whenI got off I put on a Cow costume and rode Splash Mountain with my sister and ehr roomate. We had the log to ourselves and the pic is hilarious!
"hold on to them hats and glasses, cause this here's the wildest ride in the wilderness!!"

Our favorite moment was when DD was dressed like Jasmine for Halloween, Princess Jasmine walked up to her during the parade and told her she looked beautiful! Priceless!!!!! (Dd still talks about it.)

Four Mickey's NSS Halloween Party memories stick out for me. It was Oct, 2004. First memory was walking into the MK and seeing the low lying fog on Main St & jack-o-lanterns in the windows, etc, but more importantly, HM music being played as you walked in, phenominal! Two, the Headless Horseman ride following the creepy warning and before the parade, amazing (and fast)! Three, walking into the Horseshoe Review just to relax a bit and maybe grab a drink & snack (and not knowing what the place was all about) and just before we are about to depart, they had a show, hardly anyone in the room, the curtain opened w/green smoke and four dead cowboys appeared singing the theme from the HM! That was a great treat (no pun intended) and surprise! Four was watching my (under two year old) son in his skeleton PJ's enjoying the parade, but maybe even more than that, was watching his four grandparents enjoy watching him! This was a hard to top WDW night for me, especially since I am a HUGE Halloween & HM fan!

My favorite memory has to be when some Japanese tourists asked to take pictures of my and my friends. I was dressed as a pirate, my friends were dressed as Darth Maul, a 20's gangster, and a princess. Very flattering, haha.

Another favorite experience was just getting from the TTC to Main St. to meet my friends. Since my costume was of an undead pirate, I added a stitch effect with simple face paint to my eye and mouth, so it looked like they were stitched shut. To see the shocked, and uncertain faces on the kids who looked at me was priceless.

One weird thing that happened, was that a guest asked ME where City Hall was. Even though there were like 2 CMs standing not too far from where we were.
"A pirate in irons be full o' guile.
And the blackest 'art wears the broadest smile."

Oh, and "Welcome Home."

I'm so glad I bought my tickets for the MNSSHP this year! I no longer have to think, "Wow, that sounds like fun. I wish I could go to that."

When I saw the subject matter I was all exited about telling my story about the cast member in Toontown that forced me to take her bag of Hershey's kisses. Then I thought maybe I had already told that story on another post at one time, either that or the cast members do it alot because of your HUGE BAG OF CHOCOLATE comment . It really did happen to me though, and I just thought she was tired of handing out candy because it was late in the evening. I gave it to my sister and she started to hand it out to kids, until she saw a little boy all upset because he had left his candy on a ride and someone had taken it, so she gave him the rest. :hatter_bounce: GOOD TIMES, GREAT MEMORIES!

Last year I was up there on halloween night with a group of friends for the weekend doing MNSSHP and then food and wine. We all were in costumes of some type, mine being a simple set of scrubs with a little blood splashed over along with some glow in the dark oil mixed in. We were at HM near the end of the night and it was almost totally empty. As we were loading up, one of the CM made a quick joke of "Looks like you may have given us number 1000 today. Good job", and gave me a high five. It was quick and simple but just very funny. Never thought I'd see them break character like that.

And of course the horse galloping at the beginning of the parade was just awesome.
