I was pleasantly surprised yesterday when the MK guest relations cast member informed me I was eligible for three additional months on my AP renewal. I had no idea they had this promotion. My new pass will expire in November 2010 instead of next August. Woo!
Here are the details from wdwmagic.com:
Starting Sunday August 2 2009, Walt Disney World Theme Park Passholders will be able to renew their Annual Passes for 15 months for the price of a 12 month renewal.
To qualify you must renew within 30 days (before or after) of your current expiration date.
Annual Passes that are included in this offer are:
Annual Pass
Premium Annual Pass
Florida Resident Annual Pass
Florida Resident Premium Annual Pass
Florida Resident Seasonal Pass
Note, if you have already renewed and your original expiration date was after 8/2/09, you will automatically receive the 15 month renewal offer!

What if you buy a new annual pass? Is it good for 15 months? Or is this just for renewals?

Unfortunately, the closest we ever go is 6 months apart, so the extra 3 months doesn't help us.
If we lived nearer, though, I think it would be great.

There was no price change. I was eligible for the same renewal discount as before the extension. There is, however, a price increase on new purchases.

Just to clarify, it is just for renewals and only w/in a certain time frame
Effective August 2, 2009 renewals within 30 days before or after the expiration date will receive an additional three months and will be valid for 15 months from the expiration date of the current Pass.
I think the renewal did go up by about $10 too.

I wouldn't have known either if I hadn't read about it on a disney forum.

Is this for renewals or is this also for NEW passholder purchases? I'll scour the web also on it.
Thanks,

Just renewals. Any renewal made by August 31, 2010 will come with an additional 3 months tacked on at the end.
