montly installment program (annual passes)

Has anyone heard of the monthly installment program coming to WDW for their annual passes? It would make it a whole lot easier to stomach paying for the annual pass (even though I think its worth every penny of it). I figured theyre doing in California, and Universal does it..so why not WDW?

I think the number of people have bought passes would increase dramatically if they did this. And maybe that is why they don't. Well, that and the fact they would have to implement a collections department for those who are late on their payments.

I think the monthly installments on the annual passes are an excellent idea

especially when you have to buy 3 or more

that can be alot of money out of pocket all at once

not including the other expensise you might have

I would love to get a mouthly payment, shelling out that kind of money at once, wow it kinda hurts haha

Disney honestly wouldnt have to implement a collections department for those who are late on their payments

. What they can do is when you buy your annual pass. You have until one year from that date to renew your pass before it expires. By that time if you dont finish paying it all then unfortunately you would lose it

They would have to make it some way that maybe keeps you from using your annual pass before it is paid off. If not then you can make the first payment and go on a 2-3 week trip for next to nothing...and then just not pay off the rest of the payments. Yeah your credit would be messed up, but there is no real punishment if it just "expires". Maybe they could do something that says you have to have a certain percentage paid off before you can use it or something...I dunno. Have to cover all of your bases.

I would love this because those WDW passes are darn expensive.

Also, if I am not mistaken, USF now has an installment plan for their annual passes.

Lets say you get an annual pass today May 6,2009. It will expire May 6,2010. In order to renew your pass you have to pay the whole renewal price of an annunal pass by May 6,2010. To use from May 6,2010 to May 6,2011. If you dont have it payed off by the expiration date then you lose it. Your always going to pay for a year ahead.

If someone didn't pay each month, couldn't the magnetic stripe on the back of the card be voided? The pass holder would have to go to Guest Relations to straighten out any problem.

Seems like it would be a great way to budget.

I just hope it isn't like the Disneyland version of the AP's.....They promoted the Payment plan all over the place then said that it was ONLY for California residents. Everyone that bought it from another state got housed and had to pay the rest or had there passes refunded minus the cost of admission on the days they went. If WDW does the same thing I would be HIGHLY irritated.

I just don't see an easy way for them to implement this without people cheating the system...unless you couldn't use the pass until it was paid in full. And that stinks about the DLR AP only being for California residents. I wonder if it has to do with some legal issues dealing with the state itself. Seems odd that it would just be a Disney thing.

That's fine for renewal.

But you're not counting

the money that you'd have to put down

for that first year of use (May 2009-May 2010.

That's what people are talking about.

What happens if you get the annual pass in May of 2009

pay for the first month

use it to book your hotel and to get into all the parks, Disney Quest, water parks, etc. in June

, then just stop paying?

Unfortunately for the first time you would have to pay it all at once without installments

I book my trips about a year in advance

Thats when I have checked out prices for park tickets and dining meal plans and I start saving the money over the course of 12 months

By the time my vacation starts I have the money in cash

Now, what I do is because I do have a disney chase credit card I charge everything to get the points and when I get back I make the payment to the card

Always book your vacations well in advance so you have the money to start your adventure without worries

Wow...am I the only one who thinks we are using too many smilies? I mean...I love happy smilies...but this is starting to get out of hand. I know we aren't supposed to have huge signatures because they take up lots of space and are distracting...excessive use of smilies might fall under that same category. Again...no offense to you who love smilies...just don't litter your posts with them.
