The Monorail Narrator

Post by ronatie » Mar Mon 02, 2009 6:00 pm

The voice that you hear when you board the monorail- and exit the monorail for that matter- in WDW and DL...Who is he? What's his name? What other work has he done? He has one of those voices that's very familiar but you can never put your finger on. Anybody know?

Thank you for asking and answering that question. I have actually been wondering that for quite a while..

BTW has anyone noticed- and you can hear it in the monorail tracks, that he has a slight lisp?
I am surprised that they used someone with a lisp- not that I mind but I thought they would use a slightly clearer voice. :)

But still, I love the monorail and have tons of tracks on my computer!!!!

Jack Wagner was the original. I believe Matt Hanson was a Monorail voice and I think Kevin Myers was also a Monorail voice. I believe there were 4 or 5. I'm not sure who is doing the voice currently.

I believe it is Matt Hanson yet, but I could be wrong. The only reason that Wagner's voice is still on the doors, is because that runs off a different system than all the other voice overs.

I hope they never change his voice for the doors, that would kill me.

I hope they never get rid of his voice for the doors - that just might kill me.

I have a hilarious Jack Wagner blooper reel recording around here somewhere. I'd upload it to the site, but it's got a lot of not family friendly language in it, to put it mildly. He was a funny guy, though. I hope they keep his voice permanently on the monorail.

Oh, that's a shame that there's some swearing in it. I would still love to hear it if you ever send a download link my way.

Well this thread answered the nagging monorail narrator question I've always had.... now I can sleep at night. Just kidding.... but still, nice to know who does the narration.

Well, if we are arranging trades...I might be interested.

I can probably put it up on YouSendIt or something and PM the link around to those who are interested. With the disclaimer that I'm not responsible if you're offended by the language or adult content. Definite 'mature' rating on it.

I'll see what I can do with it tomorrow (I'm at work now so I can't do it tonight). I think the file is about 5 megs-ish.
