What have I missed?

Alright, I have a somewhat general request here.
I'm a former Cast Member (as you can glean from the name) and was once a regular poster here. My whole life I was a WDW fan and constantly up to date on news.
Late in June of 2007, I had a bad situation with a former love interest (my fault) who I met while I was there, and, as a result, ended up not wanting anything to do with Disney because it hurt. (As she posts here as well, that's all I'm saying.)
Anyway, that story is just to set up this: I've been completely out of the loop since then. I've gotten an offer to go back there and work, and I'm thinking about taking it. Today I started browsing to see what I may have missed going down at the Resort since then, and I saw a picture of what the Contemporary looks like now. Blew my mind!
So, figured I'd ask the fans who are more up to date than I am: in the last year and a half, what has gone down and what's been announced that I wouldn't know about if I was living under a rock?

Toy Story Mania opened in DHS. Disney MGM Studios changed names to Hollywood Studios. In Feb the new American Idol attraction is supposed to open to the public.
Space Mountain will be down for refurbishment and so will TTA.
What did you do at Disney World? Someday I'd love to work there...maybe when I retire!

Sounds Dangerous is now seasonal and probably at the end of its run.
The HM got redone and is even more amazing than it was before.
Liberty Tree Tavern no longer has a character dinner
Redone/new parades and shows
Fantasmic is now only a few times a week as opposed to 1-2 shows a night.

Isn't Space Mountain getting an upgrade as well?
Also, take the job! I think you will regret it if you don't. Any job there is a dream job for a Disney fan..

That may not happen the way they originally wanted it to happen. It seems that during These Troubled Times (drink) WDW is cutting back on its rehab's. I have heard of about 6 major projects that have been scaled back and/or postponed.

I was a butler at the Haunted Mansion. It's where the uber clever screen name came from.

Good.

Yeah, this was about the only thing (for obvious reasons) I knew about. I've kept myself fresh, I can't wait to see it.
Liberty Tree Tavern no longer has a character dinner
Sad.
Barack is getting added to the HoP...
ZOMG THAT'S CRAZY!
TBQH, if the Space Mountain refurb gets pushed back/shortened/doesn't happen, I'll take it, for selfish reasons. It's what I miss more than almost anything else, I couldn't deal with a whole summer without it.

Not sure of the exact timing of some of these so you may know about a few:
Garden Grill no longer serves lunch.
TS restaurant in Italy changed names.
TS restaurant in Japan has an outdoor area now or maybe it's China (I don't really eat at the TS restaurants in Epcot)
The Flower Power concerts will only be offered on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
MGM is now Disney Hollywood Studios.
DHS has a goofy Pixar Block Party Parade and has dropped HSM craziness for now.
The TOT now has a new randomizing function and sometimes flips upside down. J/K
Animal Kingdom is now 10 years old.
Nemo the Musical has invaded AK and replaced Tarzan. Just waiting for Nemo to come to the MK and the Nemo takeover will be complete.
Tusker House is now a T/S buffet that offers preferred seating for Nemo like the Fanstasmic package over at DHS.
Donald's Breakfastasaurus no longer has a character breakfast. It actually may not be open anymore. Now you can find Donald eating breakfast at Tusker House.
GM's contract with Test Track is about to expire.
Parking and ticket prices have gone up

of course, if you stay on-property and get one of the Magic Your Way ticket packages with your room, you don't really feel the pinch of the ticket prices, and parking in complimentary for resort guests.

Hmm... GM's contract with Test Track is about to expire... the timing on that could not be worse. GM is in dire straits, and would seem silly for them to "waste" money on an exhibit like Test Track.
I wonder if we should be worried about the ride?

I seriously doubt that there is a need to worry about the future of the attraciton. It is a huge hit at Epcot and would be foolish of WDW to get rid of it. There is always a decent sized wait to get on it.

I don't know what they would even put in Test Track's place, I doubt they would leave that huge building empty, lets hope not!!!!

They didn't tear down Universe of Energy when Mobil stopped sponsoring it, or Spaceship Earth with AT&T, or Space Mountain with Fed Ex. They'll just take out the signage and stuff.
