I just heard on the news that Mission space will be closed for the next six months. I was planning on going on it in march =(.

Interesting, nothing on WDW's operating schedule. I won't believe this until it is announced. It's bad enough SM and TTA are going to be closed starting in April. Even though they are in different parks, I doubt Disney would take two of its big thrill rides out at the same time.

Are you sure the news people didn't have it wrong and meant Space Mountain? Not to make fun of your local newscasters or anything, but seeing as even Disney fans get the names of attractions wrong, random news people seem like they wouldn't do much better.

where are you getting this? It would help to know the source of your info, so we could say if it's a reliable source or not (like say, Jim Hill Media).

Don't scare me like this! I leave for WDW tomorrow and can't handle this kind of stress right now!

Haha - is ANYTHING going to be open this summer?? I hope it was just a mistake and just SM will be down. I can see where a non-Disney fan would get those two attractions confused.

isn't that how rumors usually start? repeating what was heard...?

just out of curiousity, did the news report sound anything like this?

when you hear a story like this on the news, it helps to do a little research first, just so we don't start any kind of panic. most news stations will put a print version of the stories told on that night's newscast on their website for people that either A) missed part of the sotry on TV, or B) don't WATCH the TV version and get all their info from the web. also, you should check the Official Operational Updates page (links provided in a great many threads). If an attraction is going to be down, they'll announce it on the website so you can plan accordingly.

I was just at EPCOT today and Mission: SPACE was very much open. I will be at EPCOT again tomorrow and I will make it a point to do a check and get back with a definite answer.
