I read that Pleasure Island was going to receive a major refurbishing. Disney's intention was to make it more family friendly.

Is this true?

If so, will the Comedy Club be eliminated? That was our favorite place to visit when we went to Downtown Disney.

I was just down there last week and all the signs and everything were still up like it's still there. I thought it was weird because Disney is usually pretty quick to eliminate signs, etc when something closes or goes down (at least in my experiences).

The signage was still up but the buildings were closed. I hope they put back the Adventurer's Club :( Kungaloosh!

i don't think they're reopening. there was an article about it all in the orlandosentinal newspaper. something about "disney getting out of the nightclub business" and "secret" plans about turning the whole area into something else, more family friendly.

City Walk kicked Disney's butt! It looks like it finally killed Pleasure Island.

we already have a thread open about Pleasure Island being closed, and the changes being made to it (along with any press releases). Please post any/all replies to the following thread:
