Did you guys see the deal for 2009?

Posting this in the WDW forum since I think it's WDW only.
Disney's offering 7 nights for the price of 4 for 2009, from January to June, including tickets (so you get 7 days for the price of 4 there as well). In addition, if you're going between January and March, you get a $200 Disney Gift Card to use as well.
There's more info about it up at Mousesavers.

This certainly makes a trip for my birthday look more feasible (and the 'get in free on your birthday' rules will still apply). Anyone else excited?
It also certainly seems to imply that bookings are way, way down for next year. Kinda scary in that respect.

I want to do that! It'd be so perfect because I've never gone to WDW and I want to go soon

Wow - I wonder if there's any way to get the gift card if I'm a passholder...

I heard - but I'm not sure if it's true - that you can buy the package with a 1 day base magic your way ticket and still get it. You'd be out the money for the 1 day ticket, since you have the pass, but I think the savings would offset that?

Yeah, I was able to find something on it. You just have to buy a 1-day base ticket and pay the regular room rate. I think you only save money though if you go while they are offering the $200 gift card (because after it's all said and done, you still have the gift card).
This works out similarly to us getting the Free Dining Plan in December. We had to buy a 1-day base ticket and pay the regular room rate, but we ended up saving money in the long run. I did the math and we would have broken about even if we kept the AP room discount and eaten 2 counter service meals per day, but of course, with the DP, we were able to get a table service meal and a snack out of it. Also, we can each use the 1-day base ticket on our first day because our APs haven't been activated yet and that will save us a day on our APs.

I'm going to check into it for June. Right now we have an August date in mind but we can only afford 5 nights. If we go mid June it will be the same costs!
Now I can only hope that the airline tickets start going back down again!

That's awesome. Unfortunately, we're not planning on going until next November.

I am desperately trying to convince my husband to go again! We're supposed to go in December next year already but this deal is pretty sweet.

You're probably just going to have to run the numbers. Unfortunately, since they don't release the AP room discounts until a couple of months before, you're obviously not going to know until then. However, I think there's a table on
www.mousesavers.com or
www.allears.net somewhere that shows when the rates were released and what they were in previous years. If you do the package, remember that you're paying the regular room rate and have to buy a 1-day Magic Your Way Base Ticket for everyone in your party.
