Has anyone visited this area? What are your thoughts about it?

I visited it on my last trip and was thrilled by it. I love historical stuff anyways. But it was cool to see the models of some of the pavilions. The wardrobe the cast members wore at EPCOT Center back in '82 were wild. It reminded me of the first Star Trek Movie.

I hear from some of my spies that this exhibit has now closed permanently, just a couple of days short of Epcot's 26th anniversary today (and Walt Disney World's 37th).

Thats disappointing...They should just keep it open all of the time...It's not like it's hard to upkeep and was in an area that didn't disturb anything else

Where did they have this in Epcot? When we visited in July we had quite a bit of rain that day and we ended up not seeing the whole park.

sherabby,

It was located on the backside of Club Cool. It was easiest to get into through a set of exterior doors facing Imagination.

It is too bad if it was closed permanently. On another forum it was mentioned that the room is used during the Food and Wine Fest, so that may explain a possible temporary closing.

However, the closing being so close to one year after the celebration for the 25th anniversary adds some sensibility to it being closed.

Here's keeping the fingers crossed that it is only a temporary closing. I'd hate to see all that history stored away and not be seen.

Ooooh, I hope it was only a temporary closing. I'd love to see all the historical stuff. I'm one who really loves to go through One Man's Dream at DHS every time I go to the World. I'd love to see more on Epcot. We went in 1982, just before Epcot opened and bought these way cool commemorative 3-day passes to use after Epcot opened. I think we paid something like $45, if I remember correctly. Of course, stupidly, we used them when we went back in 1985. Sure wish we would have kept them! I think I might have the stub part somewhere in my house. It was a large postcard sized artist rendering of Epcot and the 3-day pass was attached to the end. I remember they came in a large silver envelope with the Epcot Center symbol embossed on it. Now, I've got to search and see if I can find that!!!

I hope it was only temporary too! I was there in June and totally missed it, but will definately go over there in December to see if they've re-opened it.

Sallyporsche,

I am the same way. I love all the historical stuff. I can only imagine what a similar walk thru exhibit for EPCOT 50, or even Magic Kindom at 40 would hold.

As for the ticket you had bought, there was one on display in the exhibit. I have a picture of it, but I have no idea how to post a picture from my own files here.

That tiny exhibit was really cool. It took you way back in time. It's a shame it was located in such of an out-of-the-way area.

I loved the dreamcatcher hanging from the ceiling and the little model of figment under it. Are you sure its closed?

We saw this exhibit on our last trip and enjoyed it very much. It reminded me of our first trip to Epcot shortly after it opened which was for our honeymoon.
