Works Cited: EPCOT Center

So... as far back as I can remember there's always been something in school that I learned about that I had learned about in epcot first. In high school I once wrote a paper about energy soley using The Universe of Energy as my works cited. The epcot education I had continues today as I major in Library Science and hear Jeremy Irons' voice in my head repeating "The Egyptians created the first written communicatons... papyrus scrolls". Then in geography, learning about "The Global Neighborhod Effect". It's pretty weird...
Does anyone else get where I'm coming from? Did I just pay way too much attention to epcot's lectures? I never even realized how much I learned visiting epcot as a kid.

I actually wrote a paper on EPCOT back in high school. It was amazing and got me an "A"!!! In fourth grade, my parents took me on the Behind the Seeds tour to do a hydroponics science fair project...1st place for that one!

I kinda wish I used some Epcot (or he rest of the parks for that matter) info back in HS. But, before I graduated in '99, the last time I was down there was 1986 (yes, I'm dating myself). so I don't recall everything from 13 years previous...

Dating yourself JS? If you graduated HS in '99 that still makes you probably under 30. I never used EP as a source for HS papers 'cause it didn't exist before I graduated HS! But, in Am Adventure last month my son (10) was very interested in the civil war section. Especially the song "two brothers". I thought he was going to cry when he asked me "were there really two brothers that had to fight against each other?" So I suspect his first report on the civil war will be colored by his Epcot experience.

When my kid brother and I were kids, I remember the first research report we did (we were homeschooled) was on Norway. Guess why.

Not as much as the class of 2008. I have to confess, but throughout my grade school years, I always incorporated WDW stuff into my papers. I am proud to say I even wrote a paper about a trip to Disney. Needless to say the teachers comments were I used too much detail!

I'm with you on this one - things in school really sunk in when I had already learned them at Epcot. They just made learning fun!
Which brings me back to why Disney's America would have been so great, but that rant is better left for another day...

Sorry Len, but it has to go to the Class of 2000.
I had the great fortune to grow up close enough to EPCOT that my classes would take field trips there (at least while it was still EPCOT Center and educational). I think it was more an excuse for the teachers to take a break and have a "fun day." Oh to be a kid again...sigh.

I learn a lot in Epcot. Whether it be Spaceship Earth or the World Pavilion, I thoroughly enjoy visiting Epcot.

When I was younger and went on WOM I always wanted to learn more about cars and start driving right away!!! I also make it a point to learn something new about each countries when I go.
