Horizons Project

Hey everyone. Glad to know there are so many Horizon's fans out there. I'm writing to let you know about another Horizon's project in the works.

I am the executive producer of a new series of documentaries dedicated to lost attractions. Our first project is Horizons. I know what you are thinking.. This has been done. No offense to those who have tried this before, but we are producing a much better project. I have personally worked on over 60 feature films and television shows as well as hundreds of music videos and documentaries. Not to mention that EPCOT Center is the direct inspiration for my becoming an artist. This project is very personal to me, and won't be done poorly. I promise this will not look like a high school production. It will be broadcast quality and preserve Horizons for decades to come. (I want to be able to show my kids what EPCOT Center used to be, before the darker days of Disney)

That being said, here are the facts. I have over 20 hours of Super8 film and VHS Horizons footage. I am looking for more. I have interviews lined up with people responsible for the 'Choose Your Tomorrow' sequences. I have potential interviews lined up with cast members and members of WDI. I also have some documentation from the old Epcot Center Resource Library. I have quite a bit of audio from the attraction as well. I am looking for anything related to Horizons (pictures, blueprints, documentation, video, posters, postcards, photos, audio, etc.)

The documentary is being edited and produced by award winners and by people who are just as passionate about Horizons as I am. The audio is being re-mastered. The graphics and DVD layout are being done by professionals. We have professional Voice Over talent. This disc will not be distributed until it is perfect. Anyone who contributes will receive credit on the disc as well as free copies of the final product. Any input is more than welcome.

Thank you for your time, I appreciate it greatly. My tentative delivery schedule for Horizons is mid August. Other projects on the table include: Universe of Energy, Journey into Imagination, World of Motion, American Adventure, Communicore, Backstage Magic, Laserphonic Fantasy, the real EPCOT, WedWay, Monorail, and many more.

I think what Sean failed to mention was that if you have quality footage of Horizons please send it his way.

HAHAHA! Yeah, not so much.. :P

The first disc of MGM material is based on the original backlot tour. You know the one that used to take several hours.

Back in those days I didn't like MGM that much. But I can't imagine a tour of that length debuting these days.

Im looking for Horizons Video, a Clean Narrative Track, Omnimax footage, and complete video clips for the space, desert and undersea scenes.

Can anyone help me? Ive been looking on IRC Channels and found some things, but typically they are incomplete and compressed like crazy. Cany anyone point me in the right direction? Subsonic I now have over 2 gigs of additional Horizons audio for you...

vfxpro -This sounds like a great idea that you're doing. Horizons is truly the best Disney attraction every. In my opinion. I have a home movie of the entire ride, created with my 1988 GE full-size camcorder.

So when you complete this project, how will we be able to see it? Will it be for sale or shown on tv?

I'm trying to get the rights to show this on TV. For now it will just be for sale on DVD. If you provide me with a copy of your home movie, I will send you a couple of DVDs for free when the project is finished.
