Post by MetalRage » Aug Sun 10, 2008 12:13 am

What is everyones favorite hotel when staying at WDW? Doesnt need to be owned by disney either. I stayed at the Contemporary for the first time last summer and loved it.

I would have to say the Yacht Club. It was far from my favorite before staying there, but after 8 nights, it quickly became my favorite. This was judged purely on the friendliness of the staff, cleanliness of the room, and overall experience for me. In a close second would be the Wilderness Lodge.

I really like the Boardwalk, mainly because of it's atmosphere. I grew up in Philadelphia where the quick getaway destination was the Jersey Shore. We usually went to Ocean City and the main drawl was the boardwalk there, so being at the Boardwalk Hotel brings back many happy memories. I also like being within walking distance to Epcot and DHS :D

I would have to say my home away from home, Old Key West.

I always thought the Boardwalk was one of Disney's best faux environments.

The Yacht Club is my favorite for the location. However, if I ever stay at the Beach Club, that title may be taken away. It's a few feet closer to epcot AND it's practically Martha's Vineyard themed :D .

Old Key West gets honorable metion fior being my "home" resort though  .

I'll admit I've never "not liked " a WDW hotel, but WL is by far our favorite. Obviously we've liked some more than others, but WL is our unanomous pick. The atmosphere is as good as it gets, and hanging out in the lobby is an attraction in itself.

I have to say that WL does have the nicest lobby out of all the Disney World resort hotels that I have been in. Also you get see all the craziness that goes on at the Whispering Canyon. That has to be the favorite part of that resort for me.

DW and I love the GF but for a change of pace we are going to try Wilderness Lodge next trip. I know we will miss the sheer convenience of the monorail but we have always found the bus service to be quite good and we love the boat ride too!!

Boardwalk for me. Actually any of the Epcot resorts. I stay at the Boardwalk but frequent the restaurants at the Yacht and Beach Clubs as well. I also like the closeness to Epcot.

I've never been able to stay there yet but I believe my fav might be the Boardwalk. What isn't there to love? The atmosphere, all the things that go on at night, the sights, the sounds, the look, the Atlantic Dance Club, the closeness to EPCOT. I hope someday I can stay there, or at least at the Beach Club or the Yacht Club just because they are so close.

The Hollywood Tower Hotel

JK, I mom worked for the disney travel agency and when it first came out so many people actually asked about staying there hehe

But I would say the Contemporary, I'm a fan of..well not strange but interesting architecture and that has always fascinated me. It's nothing fantastic now but the engineering that went into it is what gets me. When I ever I take the monorail I still stare at it and study it as I pass through.

Though we've never stayed at a Deluxe, I think the two that look the most interesting to us are the Y&B Club, and the AK Lodge.

Of the ones we've stayed at, Coronado Springs Resort has been our favorite.
