Because 21st century Disney = "What we can bastardize and exploit in order to make a larger profit."
They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

Your girlfriend will probably make you watch it since she auditioned!

Yes, that's right a whole land devoted to faries.
I know it says "a new home" for Tink and her buddies, but that could be something as simple as a themed meet-and-greet area, no? That doesn't sound so terrible to me. I mean, compared to a land for the fairies (which would be asinine, imo). There are lots of themed meet-and-greet areas out there.
That said, this whole franchise goes on the "Lasseter is made of lies" heap for me, right in there with
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (coming to dvd this year) and
Monsters Inc 2.

yodiwan1, you saw a preview of the attraction or a trailer for the movie?
I know there have been trailers out there for a while. I saw one over a year ago.

I'm not at all thrilled that Tink is going to talk, but at least the fairies are a much better image for the little girls than princesses. They get to have fun and make things happen, where as it seems that most princesses just sit around and look pretty waiting for a prince to come save them. I think princesses have their place in Disney, but shouldn't overcome the experience that is after all enjoying time together as a family.
Drop another coin in slot and I will tell you more.

OK... this might be a rant, I'm not sure yet, but...
I was on the way home from work today and passed a van with a "Cinderella's Cleaning" logo with the pre-princess Cinderella scrubbing floors (Of course it wasn't the Disney Cinderella, because Disney would put them out of buisness).
Now, I haven't seen the princess movies in a long time, so it really just dawned on me... These princesses all have stories of there own. When Disney markets "The Princesses", they market them all together without a story (and most importantly, ALWAYS in their princess attire). I just realized how incoherent the princesses are this way. They have no story together, they're just there, BAM!, princesses, buy, buy, buy. There's no consideration for each one individually. I don't know why I have a problem with this (or whether I even should have a problem with this) but I do.
Same goes for Tinkerbell. Tinkerbell alone is pointless. She's part of the greater story of Peter Pan.

Faries and wood nymphs? that really sounds soo boring. does anybody think that disney has just run out of ideas to the point where they just change all their lands to a movie based theme park?

Hey, in Japan, they're practically a
super hero team.
More pics of Kilala Princess over
here, for the curious.

Two words.....CHA CHIIINNNNGGGG!
Alas...why does Disney Corporate go overboard on certain things and push classics aside? The all mighty dollar. I miss Disney being about FAMILY attractions.
