This sounds like a great addition to Pixar area of DHS. Article includes a description of the ride as it is planned right now.

Jim seems pretty confident that this will be built.

If true this would be a great addition to DHS.

It sounds like a very cool concept.
I would warn that Jim Hill is right maybe 5% of the time

He tends to report a lot of rumors, and few actually become reality. It still is fun to talk about and hope it happens. I know the coaster idea when from Crush, to Ratatouille, now to Monsters. Guess time will tell what happens.

This sounds like a cool addition to DHS, although I'm surprised that they're going with the Monster theme, this movie came out some time ago, do little kids today know what this movie is?!
I'm all for it though, this was one of my favorite Pixar flicks!

This is so exciting!! I think that a lot of kids will know what this is boilerbabe! They will recognize Monsters Inc. 1000xs faster than they ever will compared to Honey I Shrunk the Audience 3-d show in EPCOT or the playground at Hollywood. Cant wait to read more about this.

I agree annag, I asked that question b/c my mom is a preschool teacher, and her 3 year olds didn't know who Monsters Inc. was when she read them a book! Maybe they're not brought up in Disney households?! That's sad!

i dont think kids will be worried about the movies release date, afterall toy story came out well before monsters inc and look what they've done with that.
also, ive been hearing for a long time about a little mermaid attraction that is mentioned at the end of the article. i really hope that happens too. there is so much that can be done with that, and the space where 20K leagues used to be offers a lot of space to make it possible to do some really cool things. and poohs playful spot is a waste of space.

That is sad boilerbabe that they dont know what Monsters Inc was!! Those poor 3yr olds, they need some Disney in their lives. Good job on your mom's part for reading them Disney books.

I have been working in a child care for a very long time so I am make sure the kids know about Disney characters - its probably b/c I only watch Disney movies everytime I work and they know I work there too

So to say the least they know Disney through me

Just trying to spread the Magic around. i love Monsters Inc too.
Ckc0915 - I just watched Little Mermaid last night! I am pumped to see what their plans are for that as well

Hopefully this come to fruition. Seems to me that DHS could use a few more fresh attractions. I usually spend only a few hours in that park. Hit the R&R and Tower and then walk around the park. Maybe do the Movie Ride for old times sake. But I digress.... this idea does sound good.

its about time the studios gets some more thrill attractions. something that park is in serious need of. back when I worked there in 97, all we had was star tours , tower, backlot, and the great movie ride. OUCH.

My brother thought about this after the movie came out. We thought it would be such an amazing ride and now it's coming to life! That's amazing.
I think that they should change Honey, I shrunk the Kids Playground to fit in with the whole Pixar area. I'm sure most kids don't even know about this movie, nowadays. They should make it something Bug's Life oriented. I hardly see any of a Bug's Life at Disney, just It's Tough to Be a Bug (at AK). It would be a great addition to the Pixar themed area.

The first time I saw Monsters, Inc. I found myself thinking "wow, that scene in the door warehouse would make an awesome theme park ride!"
I just wonder what took them so long?

I think everyone thought that when they first saw that scene. I hope Jim Hill is correct and this does come true.

So, do you think this Monsters Inc ride is the start of a building plan at DHS? Or, do you think this is a "one and done" project?
I'd love to see more Pixar themed attractions in the "Pixar Place" area. There are so many wonderful movies they've made that aren't represented in the parks.
