Here is some of the concept art Disney has come out with for the redo of Pleasure Island. Looks like they're going to make over the whole area and not just Pleasure Island.

Looks pretty cool to me - I know it's probably going to change a lot over the next few months, but it's cool to see what they have planned. Since I'm not really into the whole night life scene, I am excited to see what they are going to do to improve on DTD.

I will miss PI, I had some greats night there when I went to UCF, and then even more as a Cast Member during my stay in the College Program. There really was something there for everyone. I made a very funny music video with my roomates there one night, and we all still talk about it to this day!

I'm excited about the updates, seeing as I haven't even been to Downtown Disney at all in years. It'll be great to have something new to draw me back again. Does anyone know how soon it's going to be complete?

Cool! Thanks for sharing, Jacca. I am looking forward to the changes, whatever they may be. I went to PI when I was a CP, but that was it. We never go anymore, and it won't be a loss to me.

I think the big wavy stage roof will obstruct the nice views that you have now on the shoreline.

I find it kind of ironic they want to replace Portobello. For years and years it was horrible and they did nothing, and in the last year or so I've heard it get several really good reviews and now they're gonna close it.

I'm interested to see what they do with the place. It'd have to be a big change for me to do anything other than walk through it on the way between the Marketplace and West Side (which is what we've pretty much always done). There used to be a few interesting shops in PI but those closed before West Side even opened, as I recall.

Love the look of the Tuscan Country Trattoria restaurant, not sure about the marketplace stage as marketplace seems abit crowded these days, I think more should be done to pleasure island though.

I'm still torn. I had really been looking forward to trying PI on my upcoming trip but it closes just under a month before I arrive. Some of the stuff looks kind of interesting, but it'll be interesting to see where the crowd that normally went to DTD is going to go now. Will they go to City Walk? or will they stay onsite and try something like Disney Quest? Not sure where I'm going to fall within that, but I'll more than likely be staying onsite.
