First ever time in WDW, how did you feel?

On my first trip to WDW I remember my heart almost leaping out of my mouth at my first glimpse of the Cinderella Castle from World Drive. Walking underneath the Railroad Station I can still feel the butterflies in my tummy when I walked out into the Main Street sunshine. The whole trip was just surreal!

I was 10. Don't really remember how I felt when I first got there but I knew for sure at the end I would be back many times.

I was 3 and I can vividly remember parts of my first vacation to WDW. My parent's could not detatch me from Mickey's leg when I saw him for the fist time, I thought he was real!!! You never forget those memories or feeings! I also remember being in the pool at the Poly. I think that's why the smells in the lobby of the Poly bring back such strong memories! It's wonderful.

I was 8 for my first trip, and only truly remember "glimpses," but vividly recall the butterflies upon first seeing the Dumbo ride. Also couldn't believe how BIG Main Street looked!

Kudos on the post topic - fun to take a little time to recall those memories.

I was 6, so don't remember much. I remember walking down mainstreet on our way out feeling sad to be leaving and I remember Space Mountain vividly. I remember riding it twice with my dad.

It was my "last" ride choice when we were getting ready to leave. It broke down and we sat at the base of the climb hill in the flashing blue lights for about 30-45 minutes at least. Finally they sent each car through individually with the lights on (sweet) and let us all line jump to re-ride.

I won't forget that.

I was five when I went the first time. We stayed at the Contemporary and all I remember is how cool I thought it was having the monorail in the resort.

I was 7 on my first DL trip and 8 on my first WDW trip and I remember both like they were yesterday. We stayed in the Contemporary on that first WDW trip (it was just the Contemp, Poly and Disney Inn at that time) and I can recall thinking it was pure magic how the monorail glided through the concourse.

I started verrrrrry late in life to make my first visit (44 yrs old) but have been back many times since. Actually I was a bit overwhelmed because we were a group of 8 for my parent's 50th anniversary and I foolishly thought that we would all want to go to the same places at the same time (will never make that mistake again). We stayed off site in a Kissimee condo which added even more to the confusion. The one thing I do remember is pointing out the Grand Floridian to my wife and saying "That will be our hotel." and we have never stayed any place else in many trips. Even with all the craziness my wife and I fell in love with WDW and will continue to go back until we are no longer physically able!!!

I was 10 and there was only the MK to visit (complete with tear-out coupons for each ride). Hard to believe there was a time when you could have run out of coupons and would have to buy more in order to continue enjoying attractions. I remember thinking it was great and feeling like it was sooooo big. RC seemed like the most cutting edge water park one could ever imagine.

Back then, with only a few on-site properties, you had to make reservations way in advance to have a place to stay on the property. Now you can book a few weeks out depending on the time of year.

I was 4 during my first trip to Disney so I barely remember it besides the pictures I've seen in the photo albums. By looking through the pictures though, I had big smiles on my face so I must have been having a good time and probably it's why i'm such a big disney nut to this day.

fell in love with WDW and will continue to go back until we are no longer physically able!!!

Sounds just like my husband, my kids and me

My husband and myself prefer the deluxe resorts but my kids prefer value (it's got a lot to do with theming), and it means we get more trips

When we arrived at AKL my 4 year old daughter exclaimed very loudly "This isn't Disney, there are no characters! Not even outside!" So even with all that hard work going into designing such a fabulous resort you can't please everyone

I went to WDW as an adult for the first time. There are no words to really describe that feeling of wonder. I've been back about 10 times and I still feel that wonder and excitement. For me it's pure fantasy land, with all the characters, shows and entertainment with each turn of the head and then there's the MUSIC!!!!! Where can you go for a week and not even think about the outside world???? I'm a teacher and feel a lot of stress with my job but for the week I go to WDW and I can escape with my family.

I was in my mid 20s when I first went and still felt the wow factor! Seeing the castle and hearing the music is what did it for me.

I was 6 or 7 when i first went. I remember my parents telling me that it would be a lot of walking....but somehow i didn't realize how much walking i was doing because i was so caught up in the magic XD

I guess you could say i enjoyed myself quite a bit. Didn't really understand the sheer power of the music in the parks until i grew up a little bit, the music really makes the atmosphere just right.
