with recent ideas floating around such as what could be done with Discovery Island, connected with the news about Pleasure Island shutting down all the night clubs. i figured lets start a series called Imagineer Corner and have some fun planning, discussing and dreaming about what to do with these places.

Skyway Area in Fantasyland. here is a picture of the Clock Tower. if given this place to work with...what do you think would be good to add? leave it alone? put your ideas to work! Most important....Have Fun!

Good topic! This particular location has infinite potential. I have often walked by it wondering what I would do if it were up to me, but alas, it is not.

It's location in Fantasy Land and its Castle-like look make it appropriate for about 70% of Disney movies. You could make it Beauty and the Beast themed, could go w/Repunzel (not alreay done by Disney, could be a nice change!), make it Tortuga, or a character meet and great, maybe specifically for villans! (Wouldn't that be awesome!) A store, a restaraunt, you could fit almost anything into it. Sword and the Stone could be elaborated there, the Black Caldron, what about Robin Hood! Possibilities are endless and so will this post if I do not end it here.

Good idea, although for some reason Disney won't acknowledge this movie. I only discovered it a few years back when Disney released all their movies on DVD.

i agree with chernabog i think that they should change it into a repunzel type theme in honor of the new movie opening.

How about a Sleepy Hollow themed attraction?

i read the black cauldron book long before the movie came out. its actually a combination of the first two books by Lloyd Alexander. great books for an introduction into fantasy. Sleepy Hollow would also be a great addition...add a nice segway into Liberty Square.

I was actually going to say that I envisioned some kind of aerial attraction that whisked you away from Fantasyland to another time and place...but, yeah, same thing.

Actually, WDW did admit to the existence of "The Black Cauldron" for a little while at least. There was a counter service place in Fantasyland for a while called "Gurgi's Crunchings and Munchings". Wikipedia claims it closed in 1993.

As to the use of the old skyway area, there have already been some great suggestions. My favorite also being the return of the skyway!

Since that's not going to happen, the use of it for a Beauty and the Beast themed "story corner" might also be nice. Or even something along the lines of the swiss family treehouse, or maybe something from one of the old live action movies, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Darby O'Gill or maybe the Gnome Mobile.

I agree with kcarts "Bring back the Skyway!!! Some of the best views of the MK were up there" if Disney will be doing Rapunzel in 2010, then I think they should leave it and wait till then cause thats a perfect idea.
