Toy Story Mania

Just got back from WDW and had the chance to ride the new Toy Story ride at Hollywood Studios during a soft opening. All I can say is wow!! I loved it. From the talking Mr Potato Head to actual ride itself it was great. If you like Space Ranger Spin in the MK you will really like Toy Story Mania. The whole ride is in 4D so you can actually see the objects you are shooting at the targets. It is much easier to see where you are aiming than on Space Ranger Spin. Anyone one else get a chance to ride it yet?

It looks cool, but I haven't had a chance to check it out, yet.

Here is a link to the discussion about it.

yea and the string action launcher does a better job of tossing rings than I could ever do.

The attraction is wonderful. And once again, they are putting up more and more virtual stuff, it doesn't appear they would have any issue reprograming the attraction if they wanted.

Wow-that sounds like fun! At first I thought that it was going to be exactly like Space Ranger Spin, but I guess I was wrong. Can't wait to ride it!

The funny thing about the ring toss round, they had to bash the physics a bit since the original way it worked was too real and less fun since it was hard to hit stuff.

don't think the comparison to space ranger spin is even close. never cared for that one, but this one (if i can get on in less than 40 minutes) i never miss. park opening and fast pass is the way to go here.

Yeah, the DCA version needs a fastpass something fierce. They have a single rider line too but it is rarely open.

Oh shoot, I forgot, will the ride be open again for Florida? They closed both of the US ones down so they could put some safety stuff in the exit areas.

From what I could find online, TSM is already back open in Florida...

The DL one is supposed to open again this weekend, isn't that right?

Since the opening of DCA, Soarin' has been my favorite, with no real favorite for second. I'd have to say that while Soarin' will continue to be my fave, TSM is tied with it at this point. (and I'm sure in 2012, there will be even more adjustments to my list with Carsland opening)

TSM is a blast (though sometimes it's a bit difficult to maneuver a wheelchair through the queue) and we try to go on it at least twice.

The queue does have a lot of winding, but the vehicle loading design was ingenious. They can keep the attraction pretty smoothly and run the wheelchair car as needed.

It is a great attraction, but the load time is just outrageous. I think that has to be the biggest flaw to the attraction.

I actually don't know if it will be open this weekend but I'm going to be there to check out Flynn's and finally see World of Color. Still not sure what to wear since we've had nearly 50 degree variants in temperature.

So even if you're in a chair they don't just automatically send you to that other load area? I guess that's fair since so many people use the chairs to cut the line when they are fine.
