Rant-N-Rave Magic Kingdom: Fantasyland

Recently there is a post about what attraction to remove from the Magic Kingdom. Lets narrow this down even further so we can vent our frustrations and/or applaud the Magic. make sure you keep this thread on track. there will be others to follow that will allow you to pick on areas outside of the focus...but for now keep it on task.

Disect Fantasyland, think back to all of the trips you have taken Take it all in with all of your senses and give us your opinion (thus no one is wrong) on what is perfect with this land? What would you change? What needs improvement? What needs to be left alone? What have you seen or heard that makes this section of the park special. share, complain, etc.

You gotta love it, it's Fantasy Land! The castle is right there. Peter Pan & Phil-har-magic! If you were never in WDW, this is what you would expect, and it does not disapoint. Wonderful atmosphere.

While it is obviously geared to little ones (not as much as Toon Town), it could use a new, more updated ride, maybe bring back a new version of 20,000 LUTS!

I'd like to see them add a pixar ride to this land....laugh ok. i'm just kidding. I wouldn't mind seeing them put in something that adds all the fantasy stories in one ride. ie. Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, The Black Cauldron, etc... use the patch of ground behind the pooh playground. Philharmagic is awesome! walking the paths on the sides of the castle are so nice...stopping at the Wishing Well and just taking in the Castle. Belle's Storybook is almost too far away from Fantasyland but it makes a good tie around for the teacups. Another cool spot to sit and eat is in Pinochio's Village Haus. there is an outside Balconey that overlooks the Carousel. i'd like to see them use the old skyway tram area for some small attraction as well. its a beautiful building.

I gave it a 3. Because I love the whole disney movie atmosphere but I don't ride the rides much anymore since I'm not a child. I don't go into the area very often. I might be though when I go in three weeks because my one and a half year old niece is going but it's not my favorite and I'm not upset if I miss any of the rides. I like the Disneyland Fastasyland so much more. They have the Alice in Wonderland ride which is my favorite movie. There's the matterhorn that goes through either fantasyland or tomorrowland.

I love the classic Disney stories so I love this part of the park. Mickey's Philharmagic makes it a must go to land, but a trip to the MK for me is never complete without going on IASM (yes it's hard to get the d*** song out of your head afterward) and Peter Pan (if the line is not too long) and Winnie the Pooh (even if just to remember that Toad used to be there).

I don't have any kids so this part of the park isn't as enjoyable to me as to most. I'm sure once I do visit w/ kids I'll see the magic in it all over again.

I think the main thing they need to do here is update the facades and make it look like a storybook village like DL's. Although I wish Toad was still there I think Pooh is a decent dark ride and fits the fantasy theme. I would get rid of the playground though.

Although there is only one thing that I like, which is Philharmagic, I can't say anything against Fantasyland. It does what it's made for masterfully!

Castle - iconic
Philharmagic - Phantastic
Pooh - poo
Snow White - Ok
Peter Pan - Still great
Small world - A psychodellic 70s drug induced hippy ride (allegedly). Love it.
Sky Buckets - bring them back!!!
Golden Carrousel - grinworthy
Tea cups - a hoot
Themeing - awsome.
This area is still pretty packed. Even without 2000 leagues I still love it.

This is probably my favorite area of the park! I mainly LOVE Mickey's Philharmagic because it combines my love for music (I'm a musician) and Disney. Therefore, that gift shop gets hit pretty hard every time I go

. Cinderella's Castle speaks for itself and It's a Small World is great too. I wish they would bring back the Sky Buckets, like Joe said.

Love going on the teacups and making my wife sick! haha.. one time I had it spinning supper fast and as we were getting off, some older gentleman in the cup beside us, tapped her on the shoulder, and said, i'd hit him for that one! haha

I also love Philharmagic, I see this several times per trip

Small world, tho corny, is still a great ride, and I make sure to ride it at least once!

when our son was young we spent alot of time in this land but now since he is grown (19 years) we don't stay in this part of the park very long. My wife loves the teacups so we usually do them but other than that just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere. with younger children this is one of the best lands in the magic kingdom

Philharmagic and Peter Pan are amazing. Wouldn't be a trip to WDW if I didn't get to ride the Carousel and Peter Pan with my daughter.

I love Fantasyland! You're right by the castle, the carousel makes it so magical. I think the rides are mostly for the smaller Disney fans, but I love this section of the park. I can remember being there as a child, and being so excited to get onto those rides!!!

Something must be wrong with me because I think this is one of the greatest areas of the park. I have no children yet, but I ride everything here! The classic stories come to life and then Philharmagic throws them iall together into a fun adventure! My wife will not go leave this area until we ride Peter Pan and the Tea Cups. And I have no objections at all.

Granted I am one of the many people that think someone took a dump and Pooh's playground came out but I love the Pooh dark ride. I know a lot of people don't like it but if you think about it, it really is a well thought out ride. I mean every "room" has a different action to make you part of the story. The Bouncing for Tigger, the floating in the flood, even the crazy mismatched nightmare room is good. I too think it was a bad idea to replace Toad with this but it's not a bad ride at all.
