Peter Pan for the first time since re-furb/ clean-up

Post by WVParkfan » Apr Fri 25, 2008 11:49 am

I assume that the Peter Pan ride must have been down recently for a re-furb, because on our recent trip everything looked a little brighter and the audio was a little better.

I may be crazy, but here are a couple of things that I noticed as different:

1) The cannon fired by Mr. Smee used to be a white light, but is now a red light.

2) You can hear the Indian Chief and tribe singing the "how" song. I don't ever remember that before, and I've been on that ride dozens of times.

3) The overall area seems brighter than it used to be.

Anyone else notice changes?

Interesting. I never even knew it was going down for a while. It seems like they are doing a quick fix for the Magic Kingdom as the Jungle Cruise and Cinderella's carousel will be down in May.

I will definitely add this to the list of attractions to pay close attention to when I am there in July.

Wait a minute... Jungle Cruise will be going down for refurb? Yes! PLEASE make the animatronics up to date!!! I kinda doubt it though, it will most likely only be a fresh coat of paint.

peter pan went down for a little over a week during march. most of the refurb was centered around repainting, and it needed it badly. i worked peter pan last fall and got to see first hand just how dirty everything was. after riding again as soon as it reopened, i was very happy with the result. one new thing i noticed were the boats on the thames, you would guess that they had always been there, but they werent. also, the captain hook at the end is drastically improved. and yes, it is super fun to do a walk through of neverland!

Thanks for the update. I bet it was very cool to walk through Neverland.

I didn't know how long PP was down, but it certainly looked good while we were there over Easter.

Thanks for the update, I'll give my comments on any noticeable changes to the ride when I'm there in 2 weeks.

getting to do the closing walkthroughs of peter pans flight is one my best memories from the college program. i was always happy to be in a postion to do the walkthrough at the end of a really late night at the magic kingdom. getting to see everything up close and walk through the nursery and the courtyard and neverland was really cool, not many get a chance to do this. my favorite part was climbing on the pirate ship though. i always hoped that someone had dropped trash on it so i had an excuse to get on the ship, but sometimes i went on anyway! ill never understand why ppl will wait 100 minutes to ride this 3 minute dark ride attraction, but it now will always be one of my favorites.
