Made reservations at Biergarten for our trip this year (never experienced it yet) but I heard the food was not that great. If that is true is the dining experience worth a mediocre meal or should we try another spot?

When I went there the food was absolutely fantastic. Plus its all-you-can-eat, so you'll definitely get your money's worth.

The live entertainment wasn't exactly amazing, but the food makes up for it.

It's interesting that you would think that. In all of my trips to WDW, I have only been to Biergarten once. I enjoyed the music the most and the food was mediocre but would I go to try it for myself..of course! The Canada pavilion is amazing and France, O France is amazing!

I haven't eaten there in quite a while, but I remember the food being decent. Not great, not bad, but pretty good Americanized German food. The show was fun, though not something I'd go back to see in particular. I think you'd enjoy it if you've never been, though.

One thing to keep in mind (and you may already be aware of it) is that the seating is sorta like Tepan Edo in that you're seated at long tables with other families (unless the place is unusually deserted, which is always possible). So your enjoyment of the show may be impacted by someone's crabby toddler.

I think you could do better for dining in world showcase, but it's a fun atmosphere in there and the smell reminds me of my grandparent's house, so I'd give it a thumbs up as a place to try at least once.

We took my in-laws there on their trip to WDW and we all had a great time. The food was very good, in my opinion, and the entertainment was "entertaining." I'd go back on our next trip if there weren't so many other options in Epcot. (Actually, I think I may go the the Yachtsmen's Steakhouse over at the Yacht and Beach Club.)

Honestly, the food is good, but not spectacular. There is a good mix of things to try. Be sure to try the cheesecake...it's light and fluffy.

The entertainment is fun. How can you go wrong with "Heu-heu-heu! and crazy hand-bells?

Been a while, but we enjoyed our experience there - food and show.

Our family has eaten at the Biergarten one time about a year ago. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is great. The food is average but as was pointed out above it is AYCE. The entertainment is good but if you arrive at the end of a show you may finish most of you meal before the next show begins which was what we experienced. I would probably eat there again but not before trying other places that I have not experienced yet. (Like eating in Japan which we are doing for the first time when we visit this June.)

When the trip consists of a larger group, we always bookthe Beirgarten for a dinner during the week. We are of German decent and my mother really enjoys the atmosphere and food. She tells us stories of when she was a little girl and had eaten some of what they offer at the buffet at home. The food is a little different as they do offer typical German fare but they do have basics for those not into trying something new. The pretzel rolls are a kids favorite.

In my opinion the show is pretty good, and they invite the kids to come down and dance on the floor when the band is playing.

If you haven't done it before, I would recommend trying at least once.

Heh, we tried going there once. My wife and I got our beeper, waited patiently, and when the thing went off we went up to the desk. They asked us to wait to the side, presumably while they got the other party we would be seated with.

Five minutes later I asked if they'd forgotten us, which indeed they had. They tried shoehorning us into a table with two other parties already seated and getting their food. We said thanks but no thanks and moved along.

Won't ever go back.

I'm not a big fan of Biergarten. I live in Las Vegas and we have a place called Hofbräuhaus which is just like Biergarten but not buffet style. I prefer it more to Biergarten. But I am going to Disney World June7th-13th with a bunch of family(at least 8) and they want to eat there so apparently we are going. But it's not my favorite. My 1 and a half year old niece likes the dancing atmosphere so that's why I think we are going. The singing and dancing portion is what makes Biergarten

Biergarten is one of a few restaurants that have become a tradition for us. We have to eat there once a trip, now. We LOVE it!

The entertainment is average, at best, for our tastes, but we think the food is awesome. And the atmosphere is cool.

I have to say the German food is fairly amazing - considering they're cooking it by the boatload for the buffet, rather than family-sized portions that we Germans grew up with.

Having worked in food service before, I know how hard it is to turn a really good family recipe into a hotel pan full of the same thing without losing a lot of the flavor. Now, if they only worked as hard on the show...

We have eaten at Biergarten several times and have enjoyed it. The food is good not great and the show is about the same. We go to WDW in 2.5 weeks and we are goint to skip Biergarten this time in order to try other options. Just rember order a small beer and enjoy. The large beer is just soooo much PS leave room for desert

Hope you have fun on your next trip! We eat at Biergarten every trip because my parents love it and are afriad to try new things, I think. I don't think you can go wrong with anywhere in Disney, though! I love the apple desert with the vanilla sauce, the roasted potatoes and the pretzel bread. Mmm.
