Has anyone eaten there yet? If so, what was it like? I'm making PS reservations and I'm wondering if this should be on my list.
Thanks!!!

We've never had the opportunity to eat at the Yak and Yeti sit down restaurant but we did go to the quick service right outside so I can talk about that. It was kinda like expensive, mediocre Chinese food at best. They had just opened 2 days before we went so maybe the service and food changed but we wouldn't eat there when there are so many other options in AK.

The quick-service portion of the restaurant is overpriced, and not that good at all. Funny how one of the weaker restaurants in the entire Disney World is NOT run by Disney. Now what does THAT tell you?

Funny, I rode Everest for the first time this February and don't even remember seeing a restaurant. What a great name, Yak and Yeti.

In my opinion, there is great counter service food at AK. I love the ribs!

This is the last thing AK needs.

I agree...Animal Kingdom is a 2 hour visit for us. the atmosphere is wonderful....and i admit the bird show was great...but i can't stand dino-county-fair-land. and i think AK could offer so much more.

I do the Safari, walk the trails and ride Dinosaur and Everest. I'm pretty much done after that. No more than a half day for me or even less.

Those are my goals, too. I like a Bugs Life, too. And, I tend to spend almost a full day there because of exploring the trails. The rest of it I've seen/done once and that was enough. God forbid I have to eat two meals in that park. If I do, its the character breakfast and lunch at Flame Tree.

You read my mind! I forgot all about A Bugs Life and I always do that. Flame Tree BBQ is where I had those great ribs! Very tender and better than many I have had at "nice" restaurants.

Don't even do the afternoon parade! It's all the same..
Did like flame tree.
Liked Bugs Life and Festival of The Lion King show. The safari was ok, they drive too fast to really see any animals.
Loved looking at Everest...did not ride it...

Yikes, check out the lack of Animal Kingdom love. Animal Kingdom in my opinion is an extremely hit-and-miss park; it all depends on just how much you love the critters. There's plenty to see in the park itself, but if you aren't that big a fan of animals, there's very little reason to go. That may sound obvious, but Animal Kingdom can be a park that can entertain the animal lovers and the non-animal lovers, they definitely have the space for it.
While Everest is definitely a step in the right direction, they need to totally fix-up the mediocre River Rapids ride, not make Dinosaur an attraction so tough to reach and so far away from all the activity, and not make the park so gosh-darn confusing to maneuver through. I personally like the Animal Kingdom, the atmosphere and such, but its definitely the weakest park in the Walt Disney World. However, that being said, I had a new appreciation for Animal Kingdom after experiencing a day in Sea World..........................................................

What about going to Tusker House?? I believe that the menu is fairly new and improved and it does have great atmosphere. If you have the time though, it is definitely worth the trip if you can get over to Boma in the AKL. The food is amazing, I mean amazing. The service is amazing..I left a $25 tip on a $60 bill. It's worth the short bus ride there.

We have reservations on April 30th for lunch - can't wait! I've only heard great things from my clients about Y&Y, which I think was desperatly needed at AK.
Sorry to hear about the lack of AK love - we personally adore the park and spend at least an entire day there. And if you've not been after dark you've really missed out on an amazing experience.

That's the only time we go to AK

No crowds, no heat and the rides we go on are open anyway. Busch Gardens really does the animal thing better. Like BTM, Everest is definitely better at night.
Anyway, we've already made reservations at Y&Y for July just because we're running out of new places to eat. We know nothing about it, so any info will be great.
