Dumbing down of EPCOT

I've mentioned this a couple times, but I can't seem to get it out of my head.

With the changes over the last 10 years to the Universe of Energy, changing the Living Seas into that Nemo ride, altering Imagination, and closing Wonders of Life, do you feel that Disney is making EPCOT less cerebral? I like Test Track, and Mission Space, so I will leave those 2 changes alone (plus Horizons was falling in on itself). I used to love UoE and Living Seas, but I can't stand LS now, and Ellen's Energy Adventure just doesn't do that amazing pavillion justice.

Maybe I am just hung up on the past, but my family and friends seem to feel the same way. I am all for updating the rides. Obviously, after 25 years, the future becomes the past. Spaceship Earth has been updated, but not changed like the others, and I still love SSE.

I wanted to get all your thoughts, as I have come to respect your opinions on all things Disney.

We've actually chewed on this one at great length; it's a popular topic around here. ;)

This is one of the longer threads we've had in the recent-ish past. Link. You can probably get a lot of our opinions out of there (and I suspect a mod'll point you that way for replies, anyway ^^). It's a heck of a read too.

I didn't know that Wonders of life was closed , when? That was a beautiful pavillion, and I was really looking forward to taking my two 8 year old nephews to see Cranium Command on our next visit in the fall. I understand what they have been trying to do is make Epcot a more child friendly place, but I hope they don't loose sight of Disney's original intentions for the park. Anyone know what will replace wol?

I could go on forever on this topic. And I have, in the link DisBeamer listed, as well as here, here, here, and here.

So, um, yes...I agree with you.

Its been in an open/close status for a while now. Most of the time it was open for seasonal rushes. Just last year they took WOL off the maps, and removed the signs. During the last closure they removed most of the interior. I'm not sure if cranium command is there, it might have been a casuality. The did open the pavilion for the Food and Wine festival, but it was only used as a general space, none of the remaining attractions where operational. So I am sorry to inform you that WOL is no longer open.
