I just read this on wdwmagic.com
There are some reports in our discussion forums that the much favored Chicken Strips have been removed from the counter service restaurants. At the moment it isnt clear if this is a short term supply issue, or if they have fallen foul to the elimination of trans fats program. to read more, check out the forum at

The chicken strips are a staple.. they can't just phase them out can they???

Over at Magic kingdom, at the Cosmic Rays restaurant, they were replaced with chicken nuggets. Its the exact same meat, but they are in smaller pieces--and a little more expensive.
If it weren't for the fact that they were so darn good, I would refuse to buy them.

I heard about that too. It surprises me because they're such a 'staple' park food, but at the same time it doesn't because it seems like they can make more profit off the smaller nuggets. I hope it really is just a short term thing. My combo at Columbia Harbor House is supposed to be fish and chicken -strips-, not nuggets.

I'm just guessing that nuggets are more popular with the kiddies than strips.
If they are identical except for size, I don't guess it matters much to grown-ups. Well, other than the apparent decrease in value (higher price, smaller size).

I have heard from several sources that the chicken strips are gone, resort wide. They have been replaced by chicken nuggets. I doubt this is an effort to cut trans-fats. My guess is this is a cost cutting move. Just another decline by a degree.

Figures. Chicken strips/nuggets are probably the number 1 selling meals in all of WDW.

Thats kinda disappointing. I prefer Strips over Nuggets myself mainly but at the same time, I usually stayed away from the strips and go for the rare item that noone would usually take on the menu. My favorite quick service food at Disney would have to be the pulled pork sandwich. If they ever got rid of that, then i'll be screaming!

Hey Disney! Why don't you suck out the rest of my soul and permanently shut down Haunted Mansion?
I lived for chicken strips at Columbia Harbor House.
Last time I was at the Studios, they told me they were discontinuing pickles. I thought I was upset about that.

This is such a shame, i've never had the chicken strips and was looking forward to trying them this time around. I guess i'll have to spring for the more expensive and smaller nugget meal.

You just continue to prove what a great, positive influence your presence has here on these forums.
Would you please just start letting people have their own opinions about something without attacking them for it?

I don't eat chicken strips anywhere but at Disney

They were one of my little "I'm on vacation" indulgences. I AM happy that Disney has overall been going towards a healthier choice of foods. but at the same time please keep the park favorites! Here's hoping that they leave, Dole Whip, Churros, Turkey Legs, Rootbeer Floats and funnel cakes alone!

I've never had a rootbeer float at WDW. Where do you get one? That sounds really good right about now.

There are rootbeer floats and I was not informed?????? OK, that's reason enough to plan another trip (like I need an excuse)!
