Which water park would you suggest? Blizzard or Typhoon? Why? We have a 5 year old and were wondering which park is better geared for kids? Thanks... :D

We like Blizzard Beach the best. Not sure which is better for kids. Maybe you should check a book (like the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World)

It depends what you are looking for. Both parks are awesome for kids and adults alike but if you want to have a happy balance of relaxation and thrill flumes i would choose Typhoon Lagoon plus they have an awesome wave machine. Bizzard Beach is really for the hardcore flume riders, they have some pretty wild flumes there.

I think they are both great parks and it really depends what you are looking for. They both have a lazy river. Both have in creditable themes to them TL has the wave pool but BB does have a dedicated area for kids. I really don't think you could go wrong with either one. If you have the time I would try to hit them both. :mickey3:

Don't forget...

Shade: Typhoon Lagoon

Blizzard Beach can be brutal if you're not used to the Florida sun, especially with all that sunlight bouncing off the white scenery. It does have the more exciting rides, however.

True, true. But Blizzard Beach is still a great water park, and i love the family raft ride that they have.

I wonder what its like to work for a water park like Blizzard or Typhoon...I should transfer there :D

I definitely think Typhoon Lagoon is better for kids. You have the wave pool that you can watch and go out in the shallows, you have the sand they can play in, and the shark pool to look at. I've been to both many times and I think Typhoon Lagoon is more enjoyable if you aren't looking at going on all the faster slides.

I personally appreciate Typhoon Lagoon more. It's shady, relaxing, has a good balance of tame & thrilling attractions, the lazy river is amazing, plenty of sandy spots in the park, etc...

Blizzard Beach was always WAY too bright, hot, & manic to me. It just doesn't have the same "tropical" feel, well obviously 'cause the theming is very different. It's just stark & kinda brash.

If i was taking children I would hands down choose Typhoon Lagoon.

We really don't visit the water parks much anymore. Blizzard Beach was, by far, my favorite.

I agree that Typhoon Lagoon might be better for small kids.

i love typhoon! to me the snorkeling puts it over the top. I tihnk your 5-year-old can even do it with you, which is a great experience, and its free!! well, included in admission.

Typhoon Lagoon has always appealed to everyone on our family trips, and we have a wide age range.

I have 3 kids, and when they were younger I found Typhoon Lagoon was MUCH better for lttle ones, for ALL the reasons listed above....Don't overlook the abundance of shade, and there seems to be more sandy areas for kids to play in......The Adult Beverages are better there as well....

We went to Blizzard Beach and I didn't think it was especially little-kid friendly. From what I have seen of Typhoon Lagoon, it looks like the better option with little kids.
