ORLANDO, Fla. -- A 63-year-old woman, who was working on a Disney ride Saturday at Animal Kingdom when she fell several feet and hit her head, is listed in grave condition on Thursday at Orlando Regional Medical Center, according to officials.

The woman was injured while working on the Primeval Whirl ride. Officials said she was standing in an area off the ride that is off-limits when she approached the moving ride and was struck, causing her to fall several feet and hit her head.

The woman was transported to the hospital after the incident and was breathing and conscious but has since taken a turn for the worse, according to officials.

This is terrible news. I hope she survives the fall.

I do wish people would pay attention to the safety rules. They really are there to keep us from hurting ourselves.

if you look at the link he posted, the story says she didn't make it.

I think the main question that should be asked here, is why was she in an off-limits area, and why was she approaching a moving vehicle...?

They've updated the story since I posted it last night. Sad news indeed.

That is terrible - you have to wonder why she wasn't following proper operating protocol. I'm sorry for her family. :(

My Prayer's go out to her family!

It is upsetting when incidents like this happen, the only thing I can say is that I hope this doesn't happen again, and that other CM learn from this mistake.
