The New El Rio De Tiempo

Ok I finally got a chance to ride this attraction. The updated version with Donald and his buddies. And I have to be honest, I was kinda disappointed. I think the scenes with Donald happens too fast and you don't really get the gist of what happened in each particular scene. Also, I miss the final scene where the sellers are chasing you attempting to entice you to buy something... anything.

Lastly, I just felt that adding the goofy adventure of the 3 Cabi-the 3 Caballar-with Donald and his buddies, it really took aways the beauty and the mystique of Mexico. I loved the refurb of Haunted Mansion, but sadly I am left throughly disappointed in the new Rio De Tiempo.

What do you all think?

I didn't care for the old version, and the update hasn't my interest level at all. So in my opinion the whole thing was a wash.

I have not tried the new version yet but not being one for change I can tell you that it will probably be a let down for me. I liked the campy, corny older version just fine. It was representative of the country for the most part with a bit of history, celebration and singing.

Eh...the rehab was ok, but unfortunately they left some of the very old and very outdated footage in the ride. When I'd first heard about the rehab I was excited to think that it was finally gonna be updated, but now it looks like they did it kind of halfway. I mean the 3 Caballeros is cute and all, but the scenes are way too fast and some of them don't even make too much sense.

Hello!
The old ride wasn't great, but the song was kind of catchy. Now that's gone! More importantly it was, for you insane trivia nuts, a place where you could see a screen appearance of Pedro Gonzales Gonzales! He was the little guy who was trying to sell you someting in the market, the last one in line. Gonzales appeared in a few John Wayne fiilms, most notablely "Rio Bravo".
I thought he would survive at Disney World forever! No such luck.

Regards,
Delray
