WDW Refillable Mug Cost Increase

Post by AKLRULZ » Nov Fri 09, 2007 8:05 am

Slight, but worth noting: Walt Disney World Resort refillable mugs have gone up in price from $11.99 to $12.49 (before taxes).

Do you typically purchase the refillable mugs at your resort?

If you drink as much coffee as i do in the morning its worth it on a 7-8 day vacation. Plus the soda when you need a quick soda mid-day. We have quite a collection.

We always do, even though we might not use it too much at the Resort, my Mom and I both use it everday @ work. That way the magic stays with us:) As I'm typing this I am having "flashbacks" to the Pepper Market :D

the Pepper Market
The Pepper Market is great. I love the main pool, 24 hours a day!

Yeah still worth it.

I consider it a souvenir more then just a refillable mug. Either way its worth the 12.49

You know I used to get the mugs every trip, but then I stopped getting them because I would just buy a case of Pepsi and have that instead. And no I never bring the soda into the counter service places at the resorts or anything. I just drink the soda in the room with my meal. I used to cheat the system by bringing a cup from a previous trip but that has been brought up before that it is wrong so I stopped doing it. Now I just don't buy drinks from Disney and get them on my own.

But in all honesty I would still get one if I couldn't get out of the park to get a case of soda. It is still worth $12.49 (pre tax), I just wish you could refill it with more than just the soda. I wish I could use it with Milk, Iced Tea or something else.

Yes, we buy them each trip, and probably still will with the extra cost.

I do like that you can fill them with hot cocoa on those chilly winter evenings!

Does the change in price mean they'll be updating the mugs? It would be nice to have something new to bring home, as we're getting quite the collection of all the same mug!

Aren't the lids all different colors? I thought they did this to "prevent" people from reusing them (like I did :( ) I do admit that the designs are getting a little old and worn.

I know the lids at the Polynesian aren't different colors, just blue. I recall the Contemporary had one red and one purple, but after the first year we stayed there, they sold both colors at the same time.

An interesting technique, but I'd prefer a whole new design! I have a feeling that's more expensive than just letting people slide because Coke is extremely cheap.

I have three from Coronado Springs and two from POP Century and they are all different color lids. I think CS is red-blue-orange and PC is blue-orange, but I will double check when I get home (probably will for get in all honesty).

We always purchase these on our trip. We have quite a few from Coronado Springs between the three of us and although the design and lid color is the same, the only difference I discovered was the design of the lid itself. Our first set has sharp angles on the lid while the others are rounded off. Not a big difference, but enough to prevent people from reusing the mugs, I imagine.

I asked and was told you could fill it with anything at the drinks stand (In All Star Movies). This includes Iced Tea and Hot Choc.

We go two weeks at a time so the mugs are worth the money.

Yes...anything at the drink stand is fair game.

Oh I have my fill of Disney coffee each and every trip :)
